I would like to say I took my hyundai elantra to AAMCO and they said we needed a new transmission and so we left the vehicle there after 2 weeks, we received a letter in the mail stating our car was impounded in west valley Utah. we were shocked we went to AAMCO and they did not know it was gone almost for two weeks.
we then went to impound lot the car was tore up new stereo gone wires everywhere. the trunk had a speaker in there also gone.
All of personal paperwork was gone from the glove box.called AAMCO in Taylosville to get it picked up that took more than a week. They had to pay for that. It is April and they wont speak to me about it.
I have called the manager Monty who will not return my call. I called today and the engine is almost done but nothing about replacing the inside of the vehicle so I am going to the extreme for help . Apparently their shop was buglarized your keys hang on the wall for anyone to get. I was also charged for oil change that I did not ask for when I asked for copy of the work order, it was different from the one I originally received.
I have been charged $3,574.00 and they will not take off any amount after all this problem with them.
I would never recommend this AAMCO in Taylorsville, Utah to anyone. We will see what becomes of this.

Bad service
While traveling through Flagstaff the transmission on my motorhome had the oil pan gasket start to leak.
I contacted Aamco in Flagstaff told him I had a C 5500 with a motorhome on it and needed the transmission checked out. He said they could do it and to bring it in.
After sleeping in my car all night, in the morning in saw the store was open and went inside. While walking to the business counter, I notice BOTH bathrooms had out of order signs on the doors. Walking further into to the store the stench of cigarette smoke was very bad. At the counter was a man smoking and doing paper work.
I asked when he would be able to get me in. With a smirk on his face he informed me that he couldnt work on it as it wont fit on his lifts. I said I wanted it checked out anyway. I was informed at that time that he couldnt do that either.
He then offered very easydriving instructions to another shop. When I asked for paper to write them down, he chastised me needing to write them down.
WOW !!! BROKE DOWN IN A STRANGE CITY AND I GET THIS KIND OF TREATMENT!!!

Verified Reviewer | Randallstown, MarylandMore damage
I brought my car in because it was jerking and shaking since my warranty company said I need to because theyre in network. My car was intentionally damaged by the AAMCO on liberty road in Randallstown MD and they are refusing to take responsibility.
AAMCO corporate said that theyre not responsible for what their franchises do so they wont help me. AAMCO is a nightmare. Now Kia cant even replace my engine without doing a lot of other work because of this negligence which is going to cost me over $3k when I supposedly only needed a sensor replaced. This location is also a bunch of scammers!
They created fraudulent invoices about my car issues after my car was no longer with them then had the nerve to lie like I couldnt tell and tried to tell me it was my original when I have my original.
Trash company. Do not ever use them for anything

Attempted scam of an 85 year old man.
I just didn't feel like crawling under the car and doing the work .. although not much work is required.
I had a leak (common for this Chrysler brand) from the transmission electrical receptacle.
I took it to a local AAMCO on the west side of El Paso,TX. The car was kept overnight for diagnosis and I was texted next day to come by to authorize the needed work.
I went to the shop and was offered the repair cost of $2,100.00+. The girl behind the desk told me that they would have to install a new shifter plate and that they were not cheap. Then she stated the price at $1,800.00 for the plate alone and that the mechanic would not do the job unless this was done along with the new receptacle and that the total cost would be over $2,100.00.
She was nice, though ... she offered sources where I could finance a loan! And, ... when I questioned why the seals, gaskets, or whatever is leaking be replaced and only that, she told me a story about "another customer just recently came in with the same problem and that changing only the receptacle did not work and the mechanic had to redo the job and would never attempt to do the repair again unless the receptacle AND the shifter were replaced."
Of course, I refused to have the work done at those prices.
I took my car home, and I did a search online later and the expensive shifter plate was in the range of about $600 to $800.00. So, on that item alone the retail charge was at least $1,000 too high.
I pulled the electrical receptacle and discovered that I only needed to replace the two rubber 0-rings at a cost of about $4.00 or less. I replaced the two o-rings and re-installed the electrical receptacle. Two drops of transmission fluid appeared on my garage floor because I didn't wipe off the bottom of the transmission good enough.
(My bad!) I currently keep a white sheet under the engine/transmission and no other drips, drops, seeps, have appeared after several weeks of driving the car.
I would attest that I have saved over $2,000.00 by doing the job (if one wants to call it a JOB) myself.
Is it any wonder why AAMCO's reputation is in the toilet today. Read the reviews...

Verified Buyer | Spokane, WashingtonThey took several weeks to even look at truck and then charged me $6800.00 and didn’t even fix it
User's recommendation: Don’t use AAMCO
I had a problem at center 990002
I technician came to my house gave me a diagnosis and said I had leaks I my transmission. He gave me a estimate of 500 dollars, I consented they took the veichle back to the shop.
I never got a call back, three days later I called for the status of my Jeep. I was told the coolant line and the front axle was leaking, and that would solve the problem. I was informed the price would be 1,067 dollars to fix the problem. I paid the invoice at that time I picked up my jeep One week later I see that there was a puddle of oil in my driveway, I bought back my jeep after on week of driving.
I was told it was under warranty and they would fix the problem however after they did a deep diagnosis they said I had a faulty seal in my transmission. I thought they did a deep diagnosis the first time. Then I was told they made a bad diagnosis.
So I guess Im suppose to suffer for there mistakes.Im not a professional aamco is. I didnt get a choice if the the transmission was bad I wouldnt have fixed my Jeep, hover now Ive spent over a thousand dollars and I got back a car that was worst than when I gave it to them.where is the justice I feel if I was robbed, money is hard to come by in this pandemic.
User's recommendation: Absolutely not, worst service of all times. If you want to get robbed aamco is the place to go. Thank you
