Rack and pinion

Rack and pinion was done and I need it replaced only after a year of having it. The part itself is bad. Ive been to the same place 3 times for them to fix it and now theyre saying I had a 90 day warranty instead of a year and they cant fix the issue. Damage to my car

AAMCO - Damage to my car
I took my car in to have the transmission checked. They said it would cost well over a thousand dollars to fix. I decided to wait and just pay the fee for having it checked. When I got my car home, I noticed damage on the back corner. A dent, a scratch and a white paint scrape. I called them and they told me they did not do it. I am not happy with aamco on 3197 North High St. I take pride in my vehicles and knew my car did NOT have this damage previously. So I basically paid $60.00 to have my car damaged. I recommend that if anyone takes their car to this junkyard of a company to inspect your car for damage afterward. They will tell you lies that they did not do it.

May 26 2020 dropped off 2011 Ram Laroma 1500 truck engine light on told needed cam/lifters &;;;;; transmission. My son made arrangements to have engine work done. After discussions & quote my son & Ryan the manager agreed(altho now Ryan back tracking says there was no discussion) my son would purchase cam/lifters since he was going to be charged approx $3000 for same parts my son could purchase for approx $1100. Aamco wanted a 300% markup...ridiculous! After having truck for close to 2mths truck went to tuner to remove mds codes once at tuners the same codes my son took truck into Aamco for came on...& paid Aamco close to $4000 to fix. Truck had to be towed back to Aamco it was there for another 2wks son was told "we" are doing research can't figure out issue. I had enough & called spoke with Ryan myself of course he kept denying sny conversations or other topics that indicated Aamco was a part of problem. Funny tho the next day my son got a call saying cam/lifters were wrong. Blaming him for truck not getting fixed. Truck was towed back to my house the tow truck driver who said he was friends with Ryan said " Ryan immediately started saying the guy brought us the wrong parts". Once again he's covering his back side. We, as consumers, depend on these so called "professionals" to know what they are doing. The time to do research was BEFORE putting parts in NOT afterwards so that makes these people incrediably arrogant or ignorant one of the 2. Let's add my son was told they'd fix it for another approx $1200 just depends on labor. My son is out alot of $$$$ & still has same issues....THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE!

Gresham Oregon AAMCO is scamming their customers

My son in law was quoted on 6/11/20 at the Gresham,Oregon AAMCO to have his transmission rebuilt and installed for $3390.He was told while on site at the gresham Oregon AAMCO by James the manager he had to pay all monies up front, he scraped together every last dime he had and financed the remaining balance. He was told the rebuild would take 2-3 weeks, 3 weeks being the absolute longest amount of time. We spoke with owners wife Patty on 7/9/20 at the AAMCO facility in gresham oregon, we were told by Patty that the vehicle was next in line and that the transmission was with their master builder at his personal residence but that the parts had not yet been ordered. We were also told that we would have a timeline on the morning of 7/10/20 as to when the vehicle will be complete. My son in law received an email from James the manager at AAMCO on 7/10/20 that they have now fully torn down inspected and diagnosed the transmission and that it needs additional components for the rebuild, the cost has risen to $4893, that the parts would take 5 working days to arrive and the transmission would take 8 working days to complete. My son in law responded with an email stating that he agrees to proceed with the repair but that we would like a copy of the warranty to review the terms and conditions, the tracking number/s for any and all parts to be ordered, pictures of the repair process of the transmission before, during, and after the repair process, and an email response that the total balance due upon completion of the vehicle is $1503.41. James did not respond, my son in law called James to inform him that he had sent James an email as it was nearing the end of the day on Friday, James said he will not be responding to anymore emails and that the email address we had been told was the owners that we were copying on all email correspondence was rerouted to the gresham AAMCO ( to James ) . My son in law has lost all trust and confidence in AAMCO he just wants his vehicle back with his transmission as it was when it arrived and a full refund.My son in law has a copy of the quote that Lithia Dodge service center gave him to replace the coolant hose for the transmission for $1500 indicating the transmission did not need to be rebuilt, the vehicle was driveable at the time it was taken to gresham AAMCO.

Felt like I was getting the run around

I bought an as is car so anything that was wrong I had to fix myself, I kept having this problem on the right front side it sounded like change and clunking when you go over bumps took it to aamco explained what was wrong they said sway bar some tire rods an some links, so they fix all that an give me a 500 dollar discount because he said the transmission is going out an felt bad a couple of days later I still feel an hear all that noise took it back said that my transmission is bad an can rebuild it for 3000 I dont have 3000, so I deny that request an asked if they could look again, so they say nothing is wrong with it any more they fixed it, took it to Midas they said they changed a few things but it looks like they didn't change this this an this is falling off an its crowded an it's bad asf to the point its gunna break it's so old it looks like they ignored some stuff, called aamco back asked why they overlooked some things THEY KEPT GOING ON ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION idc about that why isn't the suspension work completed, Aamco says being it back, so they can look at it again, result was we see what Midas was saying it's not that bad we found the real problem it's your sub bushings an sub bushing carriage WTF so I said I didnt want that fixed just fix what midas said you basically overlooked an I'll pay you up to 250 since it was overlooked an you didn't listen to me , he said no went up to aamco they said they would do the sub bushings an carriage for 877 and wouldn't charge for the labor, basically install it for free or just give me a full refund of everything they fixed an we could no longer do business because of covid I lost my job an have limited money, so I accepted the second option of a refund an no further business..............overall I felt like my problem wasn't fixed I do believe that a refund an no future business was an ok move everyone was nice an calm through the whole process I will say they really wanted to help with my trans if I had the dough I would of let them but seeing all the reviews I'm glad I got my refund!!

My son took his car to get an estimate for a rebuilt transmission. Really quoted him $5,000. He authorized the repairs. He then called me and told me what the cost was. Within 20 minutes I called Aamco to get more details. I told him that was too much for the transmission and that we would pay the diagnostic fee and pick up the vehicle. He told me that they had already started working on the vehicle, within 20 minutes I asked? He said yes. I told him $5,000 was too much for the repairs I cannot afford that. He told me it was too late. I told him I cannot pay that amount. He basically told me that's not his problem, and that he cannot stop the repairs from happening. I don't believe that within 20 minutes he had already started working on the vehicle. And even then if he was I had already asked him not to proceed with the repairs.$5,000 is a lot of money for a transmission and I cannot afford it and I have no way to get that kind of money. He told me he was going to put a lien on my car. I asked and asked him to please stop with the repairs, but nope he refused. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

They cannot start working without signed permission. How old is your son and what did he sign? That must be a whale of a car; you can buy new-in-the-box transmissions for a lot less.

Went there for transmission problems on 2010 Chevy Malibu, Even though the owner Gary claimed to know exactly what the problem was he refused to give me a written estimate in writing. When I refused the repairs he claimed they had already started working on my car and tried to charge me over $500 just to diagnose it. This dude is not trustworthy. ON

Ammco New Windsor NY preformed repairs that have been found faulty. Used junkyard parts that total 4,900! 9 months later car is in shop for repairs to the faulty parts. 4900 and junkyard parts...absolutely criminal and total disregard to customers and their families saftey!

Service issues

I took my truck to the am go dealer and Pensacola they had it for 2 weeks said they couldn't find anything wrong with it I told them and only happens after on the road for a couple hours long story short it's at their for a couple weeks I told him I get time off finally to go back home to Missouri and I will be driving that truck and of course it messed up I got ahold of John at the Plant City ammco that started all this hes really apologetic doesn't know what to do I'm appear home the close is ammco dealer is a 100 miles away which means at the fight this thing all the way there I think I just want a total refund and I will buy a transmission from General Motors and have somebody put it in I cannot keep having these problems so have somebody please call me thank you

I have now been with out my truck since February if you own a diesel DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR TRUCK first transmission lasted two days second one took them 4 months to install a blasted 3 days before exploding now this one is slipping in gear an leaking fluid avoid this place at all cost
