Aamco Will scam and threaten to assault you

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am writing this complaint because I am excessively dissatisfied by the lack of customer service, and outraged how the employees and owners at this Aamco scammed and treated me. On the first day 12/19/16, I came into Aamco located on 157 Tully Road San Jose 95111 to get the free code check engine light as advertised on TV.

I was told that the code was a cylinder 2 misfire, meaning it could be a number of things that could be wrong with my car, so I schedule to come on December 21st at 8:00am the following days. The second day I came back on 12/21/16 at 8:00 am in the morning to do a check engine light diagnostic. After 1 hour I was told verbally the diagnostics of my car and I was given an estimate over the phone. At this time, they told it would take until noon to finish work on my car.

Despite that reassurance, I was never contacted at noon. After waiting 6 long hours, I came back to check in on the status of my car myself around 2:00 pm since I never receive a call. When I got there, I found out that my car was never looked at or worked on; only the parts had barely arrived. The current time was 2:00 pm, and I was told by the receptionist, Paul, that it was only take two more hours before the work on my car was done.

I left and waited another 3 more hours. Around 4:45 I received a call from the receptionist telling me that they need to keep my car overnight. Outraged from the lack of work, I didn't want to keep my car overnight, nor did I agree/sign any form to authorize them to keep the car overnight. By the time I got there, it was 4:55 pm, and the store was closed.

The only person there was the mechanic. He told me that Paul left early. Since my relatives were out town and I had no means of transportation home. As a result, I was forced to walk home which was on the other side of town over 8 miles at night.

That night infuriated me, and I wrote a complaint online at the Aamco customer service website. I understand that there is an overnight fee storage for cars, and I WILL NOT BE PAYING FOR SUCH FEES due to customer dissatisfaction and service. The next day, I called in sick for my work and I was left a message from the receptionist saying that my car was done. Because I didn’t have any means of transportation, I was forced to use Lyft.

When I got there it was around 2:00pm and I thoroughly expressed my frustrations how they left me stranded and procrastinated on getting the work done the day prior. I told them I did not sign anything authorizing the all the excessive tunes ups work that was added onto the bill (670 dollars) In response, he say that they have a phone recording of me giving them my authorization. Despite that I did talk to them over the phone, he did not disclose that I was being recorded nor did I consent to an audio recording. After expressing my frustration of the situation, to my surprise the employee made criminal threats stating that he would “Kick my ***,” and verbally harassed me “Either pay the bill or get the f*$k out!” Since Aamco didn’t want to compensate me for my dissatisfaction and injustice, I opted to just pay the full amount of the bill.

Because I didn’t take this lightly, I stepped outside and contacted the police non-emergency for I felt threatened by this Aamco employee if I was to walk back in the auto shop. When I went back inside, I had disclosed that I was recording the conversation, and that I was just going to pay for the full bill. During the conversation Aamco worker had the store manager on speaker phone, and they told they declined my method of payment via credit card, and expressed that they were only going to except cash only. On top of this, the store manager, was verbally harassing me and making criminal threats that he would assault me if he was there, and that he would sell my car the next day if I didn’t pay that day.

This got to the point where the officer had to step in and tell him to calm down over the phone. Since they were only going to except cash only, I had to walk the nearest bank and do a cash advance, in which made me uncomfortable walking in public with a bulk of cash. I ended up coming back and payed the bill and left. All in all, this was an extremely frustrating experience with a load of injustices.

I brought my car in 5/21/16 8:00 am so that it could get done that same day. I shouldn’t have been left stranded and kept waiting over 24 hours just to get my car fixed. On top of that, they didn’t even given me an option to pick up the car and bring it back the following day: hence them leaving early. Because of this, I forced to leave my sibling whom is a minor home by themselves all day and night that day.

I only agreed for the check engine light; they over charged for a tune up that I did not authorized, nor does changing fluids have anything to do with the check engine light. Plus it was against the law to record me over the phone without my knowledge. Added to that, I had to miss a day of work of which I did not plan on just to get my car back. I tried to negotiate a lower price for the inconvenience, yet I was harassed and verbally abused to the point where I had to call law enforcement to retrieve my car.

The store manage was extremely unprofessional and out of line especially when he threatened to sell my car the next day if I didn’t get the cash. In addition, I was discriminated against my race and when they refused my method of payment via credit card because they clearly had a credit card visa/MasterCard sign; although the work was already done, there was no “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” sign either. It was extremely inconvenient when I had to walk the bank for cash advance and walk back on the auto shop. I was even more frustrated when I had to pay more for the cash advance, and I felt unsafe walking up the street with over 600 dollars.

This is not a legit business as advertised on the commercial.

I will give one final chance for Aamco to refund some of money I paid for in this incident. If I am not compensated at all, I will go to the better business bureau, take the owner to small claims court, get my story out to Michael Finney on Channel News, and Press charges against both the owner and the employee since they both gave me criminal threats and have my address information.

NEVER taking my car to Aamco again!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Took my car to Aamco because it had the check engine light on, and sometimes it didn't start. Per their website advertising, the service is FREE. Dropped it of on a Monday morning. 3 days passed and no call from the shop. I called to follow up and was told my car was acting up and they were unable to communicate with the computer. A week passed, called again and same thing. 2 more days passed and still no answers. I was under the impression that they weren't able to scan for codes because I was never given any details. After 2 weeks and went to the shop to pick the car up. I was charged $125 for a diagnostic that I never agreed too. I was upset and confused but paid so I didn't have issues getting my car back. I was told that it was a "possible" ECU problem. When I saw the invoice, I noticed that they did in fact scan an pulled codes from the OBD, but I was never told. The whole purpose of me taking my car was for the shop to scan for codes and hopefully figure out if that was causing my car not start. Instead they took it upon themselves to diagnose it and charge me. Even after 2 weeks of "diagnosing" it, they couldn't figure out the problem. Well, I took the car home, researched the codes THEY PULLED, went to the local Hyundai dealership, purchased a sensor, repalaced MYSELF (a female with no mechanic experience) and problem solved!! My car is starting up with zero hesitation. Because of this experience, I am planning on doing as many repairs as I can on my own. It's sad that businesses like Aamco has to be so dishonest and do whatever they can to make a buck. I've called Aamco customer relations to attempt to get my money back but they didn't do much. It's expected that they would take their side. When they called the shop manager (although a nice man with good customer service) was quick to say NO to a full refund. According to him, he advised me of the diagnostic fee. It's his word aagainst mine. I am still trying to find the franchise owner's contact information and I plan on disputing the charge on my credit card. This has to stop, this greedy company needs to be shut down or at best be exposed.

After they trying different parts and guessing what the problem might be and 7+ days, I got my car towed out of there and sent to Engine and Transmission center who told me right away that the flywheel and throughout bearing retainer need replacing. The parts I have...

Original review Mar 27, 2017
THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I am a mechanic and I know how things work.

A 3 hour job and my car is still there after 7 days when promised next day. They keep coming up with excuses and problems blaming parts and overwhelming work of other customer's cars. Don't call to give update status and when I call I get some kind of problem with part or excuse. A clutch has 3 main components Flywheel, Disc, & Pressure plate.

the hydraulics have 2 main parts Master cylinder & Slave cylinder. Here is the story; I contacted AAMCO about replacing my clutch on my 94 camaro after getting a price I asked how long the job will take? Greg replied "bring it in the morning and will be done the next day." so I brought my car in on Monday and after not hearing from him by the end of the day on Tuesday, I called to ask the status and he replied" we have been swamped had to do front wheel drive repairs" so I said will it be ready by Wednesday? he said "YES" asked to call me on apx time so as I can arrange a ride.

He did not call. still waiting on my car and tomorrow, Thursday, I will have to call once again and see what their excuse is. Since they started doing Total car care the customer service has went down the drain! Update 3/23/17; Greg just called and explained that they had issues with the old clutch throughout bearing and carrier and clutch fork had to be straightened.

I was also told that the new pre-bleed hydraulic slave & master by LUK had air and had to be bleed which is hard to believe because LUK makes clutch and parts as OEM for many cars & trucks. Now knowing the issues and the extra time to do the job properly, I can understand why it is taking longer then the time quoted. He informed me that it will be done today so I will update this review when i pick up the car. UPDATE 03/24/17 MY CAR IS STILL THERE!

Told me last night that he will swap & bleed the slave cylinder 1st thing in the morning, I called at noon and Greg told me they were working on another car and now instructing the Manichean on how to swap the slave cylinder and would get back to me in a couple hours. Really? it takes 5 min to change the slave it's 2 bolts and maybe 20 min to bleed. THEY HAVE BEEN STRINGING ME ALONG put my repair off to work on other cars.

Each day they have my car is a extra. cost for me either i can't get to work or pay for car rental. it is now 3pm and still haven't heard anything. I told the owner Jose that I need my car and it has been there 5 days (he didn't seem to care) and put me on the phone with Greg.

Comon, it doesn't take 5 days to do a clutch no matter what kind of problems. especially for a shop that specializes in Transmission repair! UPDATE 3/27 My car is still there 7 days now! last Friday they advised that it WAS NOT THE MASTER AND SLAVE and that the clutch would not engage at all.

Greg said it has to be the pressure plate? and now they have to *** the transmission again to inspect the plate. I think that someone put the disk on backwards but if they knew what they were doing this would NEVER happen. what else could it be?

I am 98% sure that the pressure plate is not defective.

after all, the master & slave was not as i was first told. so, by the end of the day I will find out whats going on and if there is any more stories I am having my car towed to another shop who told me he would have me in and out the same day.

After talking to them on Monday at the end of the day, they still could not figure it out and Greg was upset about the reviews and contacting Corp office. said he tried a different clutch, my old pressure plate, etc; now it is my flywheel?

it's a guessing game with them. oh, and my Camero is different then all the other camaros out there yea right!

I am having a tow truck picking it up in the AM to take it to a reputable shop who will inspect and tell me what they did and didn't do.

BEWARE PEOPLE! I am out of a car for a week and he tried to tell me that if he replaces all the parts he purchased that I will pay for those parts which I would of gladly done if I would known from day 1 that the new parts i provided had issues.

Aamco Puyallup - Avoid this place

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Feb 06, 2017

It took almost four months, but I did get the vehicle back. It has been running with no problem for well over 100 miles.

Original review Jan 03, 2017
I can only describe my experience as poor. I originally took my 2001 Pathfinder to the Puyallup location mainly due to my great experience at the Lynwood location. The folks in Lynwood actually saved me from paying the Dodge dealer $3k for a transmission on my truck (cleaned a corroded solenoid). However, I've had nothing but bad experience with the Puyallup location. The first time I had it in, they repaired the transmission, which took about two weeks. That lasted a day, and I had to have it towed back. Next, the transmission was completely replaced, at a cost of just under $4000. Oh, and they had it for another three weeks. All told, it was 38 days in which hey had the vehicle, either at their shop or at the Nissan dealership. Here it is, now December, and the vehicle is now back in their shop. At first, it was diagnosed as being a Mass Airflow Sensor problem. Great, fine, I said, replace it. They are charging me $500 for a $144 part, which is highway robbery. However, the truck is still not right, and they have to drop the transmission again. They've had it a week now, and are just now getting to the problem for which we brought it in. Just spoke with Sam, and they'll be bringing it back from the Nissan dealer to repair/replace the transmission again. Aside from the apparently lacking technical knowledge, customer service at this location tends to be an issue. I have found myself making daily phone calls to the shop to get news about my vehicle. I do this mainly because I have been promised phone calls with status updates, but the phone calls never come. When I get someone on the phone, usually Sam, I always seem to get "We'll get to it tomorrow". So as of the writing of this review, Aamco Puyallup will have had my vehicle for a grand total of 45 days (38 the first time, and now 7 more). EDIT: It is now 1/3/2017. The truck was supposed to be ready on Friday, 12/30/2106. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't. They've promised to have it back to me today, after replacing the transmission AGAIN. I understand that you've had *** working their in the past. I understand that you can only move as fast as parts can arrive. Maybe pay for overnight shipping? Only hire the best? You've had my vehicle for over sixty days. Make it right. Vince Ornato, if your listening, give me a call and please tell me that I will be getting my truck back soon.

Aamco - Car Repair Review

Worst Company EVER!!!!! My car was in the shop for a transmissiom repair which was only suppose to take a week. It took them 30 days to fix. They gave me the run around everyweek/ day it was something else. Once, I got the car I was told to give it 150 city miles so the computer cold reset itself and everything would be fine. I gave it 200 city miles and the problem persisted. I called the shop and was told to bring the car back! It's been a week since I brought the car back, I have to call and get a update and its the same constant run around. Corporate was NO HELP! They claim nothing can be done. Save yourself, time, headache and stress. Go elsewhere!!!' This is in Baton Rouge, LA.

Transmission

Anything lower than 1 STAR??? This facility cheat customer. My minivan had hiccups changing gears and this facility opened up transmission. After repair the issue was still there and Mark who work there told me " issue could be something else" then why they opened up transmission. Also, they forgot transfercase oil and I went back to the shop for any leak after repair and also reported noise but they missed it. I was on highway with family...tranfercase broke and rear wheels get jammed...it could be big accident. If I have to explain this to 1000 people I will do that...but DO NOT TRUST this guys.

Aamco - Car Repair Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This is a messed up, unorganized, greedy company. I had my transmission replaced 2 times within 2 weeks and they still didn't get it done right. I originally only got the parts warranty so I've had to pay for labor each time. They haven't completed the job either time because they never had the computer reset done by Nissan. The Nissan dealership was shocked my transmission wasn't in worse condition after driving it for a week without the computer reset. Aamco is now refusing to honor my parts warranty because I am in Greenville rather than Charlotte where my transmission was first replaced. If they would, it would be my third transmission replaced by them in a month. The only reason I would go back to get it replaced again is if they do it for free.

RIP OFF, BAD WORK, LIARS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On Friday July 24th I dropped off my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder at AAMCO located at 1117 Lancaster Ave, Reading, PA 19607 for a diagnostic. My vehicle was having the following issues: 1) Positive cable on battery had a loose connection 2) Screeching noise at acceleration (which I informed them that my belt and tensioner had previously been replaced at another garage but this did not fix the problem) 3) Check engine light was on (not at the present moment because of the loose battery connection). I was called by Izzy around 10am and told that my positive battery terminal needed to be replaced, along with the belt and tensioner to get rid of the screeching noise even though these had already been replaced in the past. He was unable to give me a diagnostic for the check engine light at this time because the light was not on. He said that it probably had reset itself from the bad positive cable connection from my battery but I could bring the vehicle back on Monday July 27th if the light came on during the weekend. At this time I opted not to repair the belt and tensioner since I wanted all repairs to be completed at once when I knew what the check engine issue was. On Monday July 27th I dropped off my vehicle in the early morning because the check engine light was now on. Around noon James gave me a call to inform me that it was a catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 2 code but that they would need to complete about an hour of diagnostic to pin point exactly what the check engine light code was, it could be one of the actual catalytic convertors or just an oxygen sensor. I authorized this to be completed. At about 515p I received a call from James to tell me exactly what my vehicle needed repaired. He told me that I would need to replace one of my catalytic convertors but that it was highly recommended that both of them be replaced. He also discussed with me that my fan clutch and belt tensioner were the cause of the screeching but that the belt looked new and in good condition. I picked up the vehicle around 545pm with my husband and scheduled an appt to have the work started the following day Tuesday July 28th after he gave me a quote of the total cost and exactly what repairs would be completed. My husband and I explained to James that we needed the vehicle in tip top shape to be sure that it would pass emissions and inspection as we are planning to travel to Florida in the next month or so. James informed me that the repair would be a day and a half of work and I would have the vehicle back by the latest the afternoon of Wednesday July 29th. Tuesday July 28th the vehicle was dropped off before opening time. I went in at open time and spoke with James about exactly what needed to be done. He said he would have a quote emailed to me at work by the latest 930am. I did not receive this quote until about 11am only after calling James to check on what was going on that I had not receive the quote yet. At the time I spoke to James I told him to go ahead and proceed with the repairs. The repairs to be completed were 1) automatic belt tensioner 2) fan clutch 3) all spark plugs 4) upstream oxygen sensor 5) driver side and passenger side catalytic convertors. The code for the catalytic convertors was the only engine code my vehicle had, as according to James. He again confirmed with me that the repairs would be done at the latest by the close of business Wednesday July 29th at which time I would be able to pick up my vehicle. This was extremely important because my husband had to arrange to miss work while these repairs were being completed. I was called by James on Wednesday July 29th around lunch time saying my truck would be done in an hour or so and that all repairs had been completed. I informed James that I would be picking up the vehicle with my husband around 530p-545p when I was off work. I arrive to pick up my vehicle & it was "just being finished up". The technician accelerated the vehicle while it was still in the dock and it was still screeching. The technician took the vehicle for a “final” test drive and the vehicle screeches as he is pulling away and as he is pulling back in. I speak to James and inform him that my vehicle is clearly not fixed if it is still screeching. We refuse to take the vehicle until it is completely fixed & demand that they provide us with a rental being that my husband is due back to work that night. James tells me that he is unable to provide me with a rental that Aamco has a contract with Enterprise car rental for $30/day that I would have to pay out of pocket for, even though this is clearly their mistake for not having my vehicle correctly and completely repaired. James assures me that my vehicle would be priority on Thursday and informs us that they adjusted the power steering to the specific manufacturer’s recommendations when replacing the tensioner and fan clutch to be sure that it was not damaged when these were replaced. I make it clear to James that I would need my vehicle repaired and back to me Thursday July 30th. I call James first thing in the morning Thursday July 30th to make sure that my vehicle is priority; he assures me that it is. Around 5pm James calls to inform me that my vehicle still is not completely fixed & the part required would not be in until Monday August 3rd afternoon but that I am able to take the vehicle in the mean time. We arrive to pick up and pay for the repairs around 540pm (the total cost of repairs was $2879.02); we schedule an appt to bring it back on Monday August 3rd. I assume that the check engine light issue has been repaired being that the check engine light is off at the time of vehicle pick up. James once again explains to us all that was done to the vehicle. I drive off content that one of the issues (check engine light) is now taken care of and that we have an appt scheduled to finish the repairs for the screeching sound. As I am driving the vehicle starts to make a rumbling noise that sounds like a motorcycle after driving less than 50 miles the check engine light comes back on. I immediately call and leave a message for James. I take the vehicle to Advance Auto parts to see what exactly the check engine codes are. The codes are P0550 (power steering, pressure sensor, switch circuit) and P1283 (air fuel sensor 1, heater bank 2). I drop off my vehicle first thing Friday morning July 31st. James takes the vehicle for a test drive with me and hears the new sound my vehicle is making. When we arrive back he asks the technician to place the vehicle on the lift and see what the sound is. They determine that the sound is something loose from the exhaust system when they removed it and it was not properly put back on. The technician scans the vehicle and James informs me that the check engine codes are from the work they performed and they will be fixing it. Once again James promises the vehicle is going to be fixed properly. James calls me around lunch time to inform me that they are going to be taking the vehicle for a long test drive to assure that the issues have been fixed. At 445p James calls to inform me that the vehicle is done. My husband picks up the vehicle at 530p. We drive the vehicle to run a few errands and the check engine light turns back on at 8p. Again we take the vehicle to Advance Auto parts to see what exactly the check engine codes are. The codes are C1130 (engine signal 1) and P1283 (air fuel sensor 1, heater bank 2). I call and leave a message for James informing him of this and telling him that I would be dropping off the vehicle first thing Saturday morning August 1st. James assures me that they will work on my vehicle all day until close time. I call James around 1030a to check on the progress, he informs me that they still are working on the vehicle and that the check engine light is still on. He tells me that the new code has to do with a ground being broken when they removed the exhaust to complete the work by the spare tire. He tells me he will be giving me a call when the vehicle is done. Around 130p I go into Aamco to see if my vehicle is finally done only to discover it is not complete and they will not be able to finish looking at it until Monday August 3rd. James informs me that I am able to take the vehicle as is and bring it back on Monday since it was due to come back anyway to finish the repair for the screeching. I refuse to take my vehicle until it is completely repaired and demand that I be provided a rental until my vehicle has been fixed properly. James this time said that he would try to see what he is able to do but tells me that I would have to pay for it out of pocket and be reimbursed. I refused to do this without any guarantee of being reimbursed or having to have a rental company run my credit for a rental for something that is absolutely the fault of the repair shop. Needless to say I was not provided a rental vehicle and my vehicle had to stay there over the weekend. On Monday August 3rd I receive a call around lunch time that my vehicle is fixed including the part that needed to be ordered from Thursday July 30th. Check engine light is off & there is no screeching at the time of pick up. My husband took the vehicle to work Monday night and on the morning of Tuesday August 4th as my husband is driving home from work the check engine light turns on. My husband calls in & is told he needs to take the vehicle in to be looked at yet again for a fourth time to determine what is wrong with the vehicle. He schedules to drop off the vehicle Wednesday Aug 5th. The vehicle again sounds like a motorcycle & is again screeching. We took it again to Advance Auto parts to see what exactly the check engine codes are. The code is again P1283 (air fuel sensor 1, heater bank 2). My husband will be taking the vehicle back to them tomorrow August 5th but at this point they have not done the job they have already been paid for & we continue to have to miss work and or be late because we only have one vehicle. They want to continue to take a “look” at the vehicle without actually fixing all the mistakes they have made. Instead they are causing more issues than the vehicle originally had when it was taken to be serviced. I want the vehicle fixed properly and completely or a full refund to take to another garage to have it fixed properly. On Wednesday August 5th my husband dropped off the vehicle again around noon. We did not get a call back until about 5pm. James told us that they would be replacing all the parts with Nissan parts because they are unable to pin point the problem at this point and believe that it may be an issue with aftermarket parts. He also asked if there was a day that worked best that they could have the vehicle for the entire day so that the technician is able to diagnose the problem and have it fixed. Only day that would have worked for us at the time was Monday August 10th, we schedule to drop the vehicle off then to finally be completely repaired. We do not feel comfortable driving the vehicle as is and decide to call James on Thursday August 4th and tell him that we want to drop off the vehicle the morning of Friday August 5th. James states that would be best as it would give them the entire day Friday, Saturday and Monday to work on the vehicle. He again promises to have the vehicle fixed as he has been working with corporate technicians to have the vehicle properly repaired. We do not hear from James at all Friday or Saturday until my husband calls and is told that everything has been repaired except for the catalytic convertors which will be in on Monday August 10th. It is now Monday August 10th and we still did not hear from James until my husband calls him at 230pm. My husband is told by James that the vehicle is completely repaired that the only thing left to do is take the vehicle for one more test drive and that he would be called by James at 530pm. At 545p we still did not have a call from James and the shop closes at 6pm. We again call and are told that James is busy. We inform Izzy that we are on the way to pick up the vehicle. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle we are informed that the check engine light is still not off and that it just went back on as they were backing the vehicle out of the dock within the last hour. This tells me that again my vehicle had not been worked on until the last minute. James now tells my husband that this code P1283 (which is still the code from the first time we picked up the vehicle on July 30th a code that was not there before they performed the work on the vehicle) has nothing to do with the work that they completed after he originally admitted to us on July 31st that this new code had to do with the work they performed on the vehicle. He informed my husband that they will not be fixing the vehicle as they claim this is an area of the vehicle they had not worked on. On the service description he states that they completed a smoke test (which was also previously completed as he stated this to me on July 31st and told me that the leak was from the work they performed) this new smoke test that they performed now reveals that the intake manifold upper plenum needs to be replaced and re-tested. James tells my husband that this now “new” repair should have been listed on our original quote but was not we actually were never informed that this was a concern. What I don’t understand is if this smoke test is telling them that the issue is in a different part of the vehicle why have they replaced parts 4 times now after claiming to have tested the vehicle and know what the issue is. Only code that my vehicle had was a faulty catalytic convertor when I dropped it off now after we paid there are issues with the vehicle that were not there when the vehicle was dropped off. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS, 1117 LANCASTER AVE, READING, PA SHARE THIS STORY WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW SO THAT THEY ARE NOT TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF LIKE WE HAVE BEEN.

Aamco - Car Repair Review from San Jose, California

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This was the most horrible experience I've had at a car shop . I just moved to the area and was in search of a mechanic to fix my car , a Cadillac SRX , which had a broken rear end .

I was referred to AAMCO by one of their customers and was told maybe they would be able to fix it ...I called and spoke to TONY , who told me I could bring my car in to be diagnosed for free . I took my car to the shop on AUGUST 19, 2016 . I was told the repair for this would be a little over $1000 and I would have my car back within 5 days . One week passes and I call for an update I get " your car will be ready tomorrow " ...OK .

Tomorrow comes and I receive no call or update , so I call back the following day only to be told " your car will be ready tomorrow " again . OK . This pattern went on for the next MONTH . One day I was told " they are looking at it now " I pass by and my car is in the same spot .

I was told they received a "faulty piece " and had to be sent back ...twice ...When the differential got on the car , TONY and his men then " couldn't get the sensors to act right " . Then it was " you need an axle " ..which was another $750 . Lies , broken promise to receive a call back and disappointment is all I received from this shop ! Finally after being told " tomorrow " for four weeks straight ...I decided to call corporate and maybe they could see what was really going on .

Corporate was RUDE and told me TONY claimed " I had financial issues " and " a lot of stuff was wrong with my car " . This was a complete lie . We only discussed two issues with my car and all parts and labor were agreed to be paid in full upon completion . The lady was rude and said to me " well I'm not the middle man , yes we are corporate but the are owned by individual persons " I told her I was never returning to this company and would be leaving them a bad review & she showed no remorse because she did not care ...so , no help from corporate .

I continued to try and work with TONY for two more weeks , still hearing " tomorrow " and waiting for calls that I didn't recoeve . Finally I was fed up with it all and asked for my car back . I called on SEPTEMBER 28, 2016 and stated I would pick up my car on SEPTEMBER 30 whether it was fixed or not ...of course TONY still tries to convince me to leave it there . When Friday comes around he still tells me that the car is not finished and he would have to charge me " $110 diagnostic fee " and " 30 hours worth labor " .

NO SIR YOU WILL NOT ! So he then says that he would have a price for me Saturday....guess what , I never heard from TONY until I called him Monday morning OCTOBER 3, 2016 when he then stated " just come get your car off MY lot " as if I've done something wrong !!!! SIR for the last month and a half my small children and I went through *** trying to get back and forth to work , school etc . EXCISE ME FOR BEING UPSET THAT YOU COULDNT JUST TELL ME YOU CANT FIX MY CAR !!!

I was upset about the situation after the week he promised but NEVER did I have an attitude or rudeness with TONY !

NEVER WILL I EVER take my car here or recommend ANYONE to take their car to this location or this company !! Horrible customer service and on top they are liars and obviously don't know what they are doing !
