I took my car to Aamco in New Brunswick on Aug. 7, 2012. Peter stated that the car needed a new engine, which my warranty company did not agree with Peter. Peter gave the hardest time ever to my warranty and told them he would not fix the engine that the only thing he...

The man is a sales shark and has absolutely no concern for quality and doing things the right way. Aamco clearly condones his activity.

So called free check no | Aamco review from Birmingham, Alabama

Towed my trailblazer in to get a free check-up at aamco and they told me they couldn't read any codes and needed to pull the transmission off so they could find the problem. Told them I would be up there to get my car and they said I owe $450 for labor for taking off my transmission to see what the problem. So now they tell me I need another transmission and a bunch of other so called problems all costing a whopping $2600 or more. The thing is what just happened to my free check up? Also tried calling the corporate office and they direct you to or the nearest AAMCO in your area which is the one I'm having problems with.....

Don't pay it if you did not authorize the repair. Period.

Update by user May 20, 2013

I'm scared to find out what Aamco will do to my car after putting in a complaint. I found so many unhappy people here I'm sick of Aamco. They should be out of business.

This shop gave me the worst experience of my life, their front man Dennis will baffle you with bull until you have a headache. They will quote you one price rip your tranny out then drop a bomb on you in the order of 1200 more. You can always have your tranny...

I agree. I had the same experience.

Pat has no integrity and Dennis is out of his mind. They give me the run around about my car. Who cares if my tires have wear on them, tell me what's mechanically wrong with my car!!!! In the end they couldn't tell me what was wrong with my car.

A waste of time!!!

I will never go back there either. All they want to do is take people's money at any cost!

Had the trans on our Windstar rebuilt less than three years and 22000 miles ago. At the time Jamie talked us into an additional $1000 for "upgraded parts". Recently had the o/d light flash so we brought it in to get it checked and figured we would get a trans service...

Un needed repairs | Aamco review from Orlando, Florida

Took my truck in for hard shifting into gears after a few miles warming up, they said they needed to diagnose the issue, 'OK professional oppion" after diagnosis ah the torque converter may be bad wont know till we open in up, their diagnosis led them to believe it had to be opened up, so 700 dollars labor later their were 3 electrical componants bad and torque conveter so at this point stuck with rebuild, so although was not ready for that, i figued at least its rebuilt and got many more years to drive it with warranty, so finall bill was 2750, then heading home after a few miles the same problem I came there with was still there, now i'm PISSED, took it back now they say it could be an electrcal issue, my problem in this situation is what happen to the professional diagnosis in the first place, it could have been a simple electrical issue all along not a 2700 rebuild if they even rebuilt it!

Ripped off and service not completed | Aamco review from San Jose, California

I went down to AAmco transmissions for them to check out my four wheel drive on my truck and have the rear differential fluid changed. and when they finished the diagnosis the service writer told me the parts alone were going to be over $1100 witch i just bought myself for $260 for the same exact parts. i felt like they were tring to take advantage of me. So i told the guy i was going to come pick up my truck, thats when he told me it would be $440 for the diagnosis witch i paid. when i picked up my truck the differential fluid was not changed and the steering column was left apart. This was terrible service.
