Charged for new parts that turned up original | Aamco review from Colorado Springs, Colorado

I had AAMCO on Chelton loop in Colorado Springs replace my clutch. I made it 1/2 mile before one of the lines came off leaving me stranded. It has been 2 years now and I have lost all clutch. I Took it to another shop and they say that slave cylinder was bad. Turns out it was never replaced but my bill shows that it was. I have had leaking problems from the master cylinder as well which I never had before they worked on it.I was charged for parts and labor that I did not receive. Beware

Manager Lyman he's not professional and rude | Aamco review from Minneapolis, Minnesota

In July I took my car to the Aamco shop on 93rd Halsted to have my transmission checked I found that I needed a new one but declined because the car was too old and the repairs too expensive. The tech offered to rebuild one, I agreed for $1400. The repair was done and the car seemed fine. Late November a light came on, I knew it was the trans took it back and now someone else was managing the place. The manager said that there were over a hundred cars that had returned with very similar issues. The old manager had been piecing transmissions together. He also said that the location is now black owned(?) December 1st is when I took my car back and for two weeks nothing was done because Lyman (true to his name LIE-MAN) said they were waiting for a lift finally my car was done but now I needed a radiator hose. I'll have my mechanic fix it. It was then a fight. " why don't you let us do it" no thank you I said. He's upset so I get my husband involved. My husband got heated. He did apologize.I was just going to sell the car after all the issues I was starting to have. Lie-Man wanted to by it, I said no. Now I needed to really hurry to get mt car from there. My mechanic couldn't get there soon enough to tow the car so I was going to be charged a storage fee. I asked for one more day and of course NO was the answer. I had my son to go over and just drive the car off the lot but was told he couldn't because the engine would crack. My son and godson pushed the car across the street then phoned me to say the battery wasn't hooked up. I don't know a lot but when something is repaired everything should be put back together. I called LIE-man he said something about a safety issue. He said it was a favor to me. He starts telling me that I had an attitude an should thank him for helping push my car out and then went on to say something about I don't talk like someone that goes to church and he didn't believe I even went. What does that have to do with anything. I never discussed anything with him about church. In fact my husband told me when he talked to him Lie-man had the attitude and then when things calmed down LIE-man began giving him his life story. He talked about being in prison, etc. Don't go there

I dropped my car off to be analyzed for a transmission repair on November 29 2010 with my boyfriend. For 2 weeks I waited for an analysis of my vehicle. I didn't stress the time frame as it was right after the holidays and I had another vehicle to drive. This was my...

Amco Transmissions, Inc. | Aamco review from Benicia, California

My car went to Aamco because the Transmission started not wanting to shift into 2nd then 3rd unless it was well warmed up and I live in Fla. After 3 attempts by this Service Center on Cortez Rd. near Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, Fl. and more than 3 weeks of time, the car is Still not repaired. Furthermore, the initial repair check had been process twice and so was the payment. It took many weeks to get that 2nd payment returned and I still don't understand how B of A could pay twice on the same check. To date I don't have my car repaired, nor do I have a "courtousy vehicle" from the Amco Shop. They are unresonable to speak with, including the Manager - Gary, who keeps telling me it's going to be fixed soon and may cost more money. I'm a Senior Citizen and a Widower living on a fixed income that gets smaller every year. Now I have my only car in your shop for way too long with no reasonable end insight or decency or understanding the urgency of this situation. I can't even go to the Dr's office unless I call a Cab and where I live, it won't take but 2-3 trips to the Dr's before I could pay for a new car.

Aamco Tigard, OR Saved Us a Lot of Money

We went to the Dealership because our 2003 Ford Taurus wasn't shifting right, and after being charged over $150.00, they told us that our transmission needed to be replaced or rebuilt for about $3400.00, but they didn't really give a good explanation of the reason. Next we went to a smaller Tigard Transmission shop and they also said it needed to be rebuilt and quoted a much lower price than the dealer. I was told that they were "just as good as the high priced places, like Aamco", but cost less. This peaked my curiosity so I called Aamco in Tigard. The Manager, Kurt Enge, told me to come in for a FREE diagnosis, and I am very glad that I did. The technicians at Aamco found that a sensor for the transmission had somehow come unplugged and after they plugged it back in, it operated like new again. As Kurt explained how the transmission shifts are controlled by the electronic sensors and solenoids, I finally felt like I was talking to somebody that really knows about cars. I was also glad to find out that Aamco performs all types of automotive services now, so I can go there for everything our car needs.I don't normally get excited about things like having our car worked on, but Aamco saved us from spending money that wasn't necessary. They get a huge ATTABOY from us. by Bill & Karen Hickman, Portland, OR December 04, 2010

They charged for tow even though is was not fixed right the first time. | Aamco review from Houston, Texas

They towed my car then they charged me after no warning that I would be charged. After I took the car to them 5 times. And the car still doesn't run right. If you don't know how to fix VW don't take our money and pertend like you know what your doing. After money spent and time spent back and forth and after paying for a tow that I believe I should not had paid because I was taking it back to them to fix after so many times done wrong. They tell me to take it to the dealership VW....What loosers never again will I spend my money and time at AAMCO.Be Warned..

This is a very old review. Doug Gregory no longer is involved with this shop or with AAMCO.

Current ownership has received "Superlative Customer Satisfaction" award for 2011, 2012 & 2013. Stop in, you'll be glad you did.

I was very pleased at Aamco Transmission. They fixed my car .

I was very pleased at Aamco Transmission they were very nice people. This is the best that my car has run in years. They took me home when they worked on my car and picked me up when it was done. I would recommend anyone to go there for there auto repair or transmission work. There are warranties offered and also if you go online there are coupons to help pay for the cost. Not sure why people bash a good service when they walk into the shop for help. That is what they are there for. You have to remember you pay for what you get.

ok i have returned from haitus, i have posted on aamco before. this person is a company *** reality is, AAMCO is a rip off, i have worked for a few transmission shops, and there are more bad ones than good ones.

AAmco is the dregs of the business. the business model is 5x parts, thats how the arrive at their total price. the RDI (remove disassemble inspect) fee is a trap, its a TRAP! if they think you might not get the work done, they go "high pull" which means a higher than normal price to pull it so you are in too deep to back out.

its a FULL RETAIL business model. and the RDI if you decline work is to be paid in CASH ONLY, so you cant cancel a check, or dispute on your credit card later.

you have to sue them, and you will lose, as you agreed to the charge up front. thats the mentality, once you are in, and your transmission is out of the car, you are screwed, and its gonna cost you big.

Aamco NE 82nd in Portland lied

I took my car in because of a check engine light. They said it was the throttle body control unit. I told them to order the part and do it. When they called to say the repair was complete, they said FYI the car is now kicking out a code that the throttle body needs to be repaired. I said that I thought this was what they repaired. No, they put on a new pedal! They charged me for an hour and fifteen minutes for two bolts. It wasn't even the repair that they were supposed to be doing.
