honey, if you got out the door without spending 5000$ count your blessings and move on. read the other reports of people still paying FINANCE CHARGES on transmissions that fail 1 week out of warranty and are totally screwed. you got off lucky.

Check Engine light scam at Aamco

My check engine light came on and I took it to aamco for the diagnostics test, to see what it was. I left it there for 5 hours, after making an appointment for first thing in the morning. When I went to pick it up, they said it was an O2 sensor, would not put which one it was on the invoice, and explained that it would be $220 + tax. I decided to take it for a second opinion, just to make sure. It turned out that there was a hose disconnected and nothing wrong with the O2 sensor! I would have never known and would have paid all that money for something that was not wrong. Great to know there are other honest companies out there.

When the check engine light comes on who really benefits.?.invariably the Handbook directs us to take the vehicle back to the dealership...cit could be a serious problem right and the engine could be damaged...MMMMMM here the error codes can be determined and deciphered...and here we are put on the spot and asked to pay something....there has to be something wrong with this..why aren't the codes shown on the dash and interpreted in the handbook...these lights seem to come on all the time..Right..thats a lot of cash to the dealers

We had our transmission rebuilt in our 1996 dodge ram 1500 p/u at the Clark rd store in Sarasota Fla in April 2010. We paid $1500.00 . We chose AAmco because we were told of the nationwide warranty. Well here we are 300 miles from home and 4000.00 miles into our...

AAMCO Sarasota and Jim Cosby’s Team is one of the best car care guys I have met in my life. Whenever you avail yourself of a car transmission warranty, you should extract out the complete details and terms and conditions mentioned in it.

The competition is strong no doubt but nationwide warranty applies to all the workshops equally. So, there must be some misunderstanding regarding the information that was supplied to you.

Aamco of Round Rock tried to rip me off

I took my car in for an oil change and asked them to give it a once-over. I was told that the brakes were completely messed up and had to be replaced -- the pads (which the manager said was down to bare metal), the rotors, and the calipers. I was told that I was in danger if I continued to drive it. The estimate for the bill was $600 and change. I took it to one of my co-workers, the same guy who had fixed my car after Stockton Ford s____ed the pooch (that's another story). He took apart the brakes and found that the brakes were a little less than half worn. Bare metal, like ***! And, there was nothing wrong with the calipers or rotors. I went to Aamco's website and submitted a complaint. They wrote back and told me they would investigate. That was a couple months ago, and I haven't heard a word from them since. So, here I am, warning the public. The thing is, it used to be a great shop when the old manager was there. I had recommended them to other people even -- too bad the new management got greedy. I don't suffer fools gladly.

Pottstown PA AAMCO - Took money for no repair

I would never allow them to change the air freshener hanging from the rearview let alone allowing them to try and do any real work. They gambled on a resolution, it failed, they lost, they kept my money and after 9 months still have my car. Therefore, I lost. News flash - fixing the damage does not always fix the problem. Most people expect that the problem be fixed. Consumers generally do not care about the damage only a satisfactory resolution. If I had a flat tire, putting more air in might solve the issue - but only until all the air leaks out. replacing a transmission might fix the problem, but if it doesn't consumers do not care that you replaced the transmission. We want a working car after thousands of dollars and months of time. See you in court fellas.

Do NOT go to any Aamco

Please note that the Aamco in Sunnyvale has had my car for 4 weeks now, the transmission is still not working, three times I've taken it back, the fourth time I will go with KRON San Francisco news reporters that I have known for a very long time to do a full report on them. Have things gotten so bad that $4,000 is still NOT enough to fix my transmission? 4 weeks and 4 thousand, that's what the going rate is for the SUNNYVALE, CA AAMCO, again, i repeat, DO NOT go to this or any other Aamco.

Incompetent! Charged a fortune failed to do job correctly | Aamco review from Olympia, Washington

Aamco charged my boyfriend $4500 to rebuild his transmission. The first time I drove in the truck after the supposed repair it did a "tranny slam." I don't know a lot about cars but I recognize a tranny slam. He took it back in and they drove it for 2 minutes and told him there was nothing wrong and not to worry because he had a 3 year warranty. He took the truck back in 3 times and each time they turned him away. Then that Aamco shop went out of business. He wasn't worried because Aamco is a corporation. He was sure that they would stand behind their work! Well he was certainly WRONG about that! He took it in and they told him he was over his mileage and they could not honor the warranty!! Now he will have to pay another $4500 to get another transmission because the so called "transmission experts" did a shoddy job and did not stand behind their work!! It was never about honoring the warranty!! The job was never done CORRECTLY!! He spoke to the Aamco Corporation explaining that the job was never right and they said "TOO BAD-YOU ARE OVER YOUR MILEAGE"! Aamco is incompetent and does not care to stand behind the claim of being the "transmission experts" DO NOT GO TO Aamco!!!

I took my vehicle in no less than 3 times to two different locations only to find the solution to this problem online - alldata.com. I even faxed this to the last shop.

When I picked up the vehicle the fax was on the front seat and the mechanic - who could not speak english had disconnected the suspected vacuum solenoid in question. When I pointed to the fax in the vehicle he gave me a *** look.

When I took him for a drive in the car with the module disconnected and AGAIN showed him the prolem he gave me an even stupider look! The BAR [Bureau of Automotive Repair] said that due to their gross incompetence that I "...owe them nothing!" This came out a full year later when they tried to again charge my MC Acct.!

Going to AAMCO Transmission is like going to a Denist you know has no pain killers - your lible to get the same work done [or not] but its sure going to hurt!
