Got screwd by Aamco out of $1900

I took my Jeep to the New Braunsfel Aamco to get my Jeep fixed,it was turning off just driving along,as it was the closest shop when my car stalled. $1900 later the manager said my car was fixed. A few days later it stalled again and took it back. They said they fixed it, again it stalled, took it back 4 times ,same thing. It stalled on me in Cedar Park, Texas and took it to the Aamco there and was told it was the computer all along, costing another $700.I called the customer relations office and was told (too bad you're scrwed)if you will.

AAMCO screwing with soldiers

Hello, The transmition of my vehicle was trembling, and shaking. They supposedly had to rebuild the hole thing. ($1400), 2 weeks later the transmition falls off, I take it back to them on Monday, they say it will be ready on Wednesday, I call Wednesday, they say that it wont be ready until Friday. they call me on Friday saying that it wont be ready until next Monday. I spoke to a few people and I was told how they work in this place (with their feet). Maybe not all AAMCO's, but the one in Watertown, NY SUCKS!!!!! Thanks.

Yes "screwing with soldiers", because I am not the only one with this complaint. Number 1#.

If you take more than a day working with a transmition you don't know what you're doing. Number 2#. If you tell someone a date that the car will be ready and it's not, you are very irresponsible and unreliable. Number 3# The trannie kept falling off, after the job was already done.

One more thing, $1200, you tell me who in the "***" charges more than that so I can call DACO on their *** because $1200 is already TOO EXPENSIVE to rebuild a transmition, when you can buy a NEW one for $1k. Thanks and if you're going to comment here, make sure you know what you're talking about.

So it took longer to get the parts in to get the vehicle working in good condition. How did they screw with soldiers?

Atleast you got a call saying it would not be ready.

I bet you called every 5 min (just checking the Status of my vehicle) I would have told you yep its still here. Get a life they fixed your car cheaper than most places would for a job done right.

We paid $2500 for a transmission rebuild at the Shawnee Mission, KS AAMCO that lasted less than 500 miles. The second AAMCO shop said that it was the exact same reason for repair that we'd paid $2500 for in Kansas. The emergency roadside assistance we were given...

ok the reality is that AAMCO is a rip off, having been a tech at one, and dabbling in management, having seen how they operate, its a rip off, plain and simple.scare tactics, pressure sales, and knowing you are in the power position once you have the customers car are ALL IN THE MANAGEMENT TRAINING COURSE. its a near criminal mentality.

I worked for Todd Cox in New Braunfels Texas, who is now in jail (yeah i'm laughing at his dumb *** no one will bail him out) facing life in prison for burning 2 of his own aamco shops for insurance money(fraud, arson, organized crime), and the lawsuits are piling up against him. the attitude is "screw em all, but dont get caught". and as a customer you have NO recourse, the police cant help, been called to our shop 4 times in my short time there. i quit because of a crisis of conscience, as soon as i realized what was going on i couldnt stay in good conscience.this is not an aberation, ITS THE RULE.

this is how they operate. no good or bad shops, all AAMCO centers are BAD.

final thought BEWARE!

AAMCO means Ripoff

My car broke down in front of this AAMCO in East Point, GA and so I had them repair it. They quoted $600 but told me the master and slave cylinders of my car needed repair. After opening the transmission, they then said the clutch needed repair. Total $1300. I saved this up and found went to pickup the vehicle - they said they had test driven it twice and it was working fine. Got in the car and the car was in the same condition as before not shifting into any gears and getting stuck. I found this amazing. I rode with one of their techs driving and he agreed that there is no-way anyone could have test driven this car and not found this problem. New diagnosis (600 more dollars for labor and then whatever the part will cost). Im not sure if I should stick with them. I KNOW Im being ripped off. For this money I could have bought another used car and the price has tripled from the initial quote.

Aamco review in Avenel, New Jersey: They need to go to school to learn.

Cottman or AAMCO. They really need to go to school and get some training about transmissions and how not to break other parts of the vehicle being fixed. OR not leave coffee, rags, etc. in the vehicle. this should be basic but, sigh, apparently not. ADVICE: Don't go! Don't do it! smiths gas station on the corner could do the exact job. You have been warned. Cottman fixed trans, Ford explorer. It leaked. OOPS a line was loose. Fixed it. NOPE still leaked. They just didn't want to take the trans out again to properly fix the seal. O.K. 11 months later trans. completely breaks. AAmco fixes it, but bends front tie end rod!!!!????? How the *** you do this? O but they never saw it! Yeah i always drive with my steering wheel making a right turn but goes straight. Go to the dealer stop supporting this.

AAMCO caused more damage than they fixed!

This is a copy of an email i sent, i could not put the pictures in here but i have a 2001 4x4 F-150. This is what they did to my truck! Alot of pics, i know. the 1st one is were they cut my exsaust in half, 2nd shows one of the transmision leaks, 3rd another transmision leak, 4th yet another transmision leak, 5th a torched off bolt for a braket to hold up the exsaust, 6th broken boot at bottom of shifter, 7th how i found the shifter, 8th the 3 bolts you see still have the plastic were they were broken off from the bottom of the boot, 9th missing radio, 10th damage done to dash when radio was taken out, 11th hard to see damage to wires, 12th over view of broken braket, cut exsaust pipe and one of three leaks, 13th were i found the 2 missing bolts, 14th and last a close up to prove they are infact transfer case bolts. the manager told me that it was the first time he ever had anything stolen out a vehicle on his lot, when i picked up the truck one of the mechanics took me down to unlock the gate and he said it was quite common to have stuff stolen out of that lot. when i took the two bolts into the manager he said they did not come from the transmision or t-case, but lol he called a mechanic in to tell him to go look at the other damages to my truck and he told both me and the manager they are defanatly t-case bolts. this is all after the manager laughed at me when i told him that the radio and a satalite signal meter was stolen out of my truck and i am looking into it but i dont think he actually filled the insurance report like he said he did. they wanted to fix it at aamco but i dont really want them to touch my truck again! Also the whole time i delt with them they were very rude. the store i went to was at 3310 N. chelton loop colorado springs, co.

Aamco Corperate

I called Aamco corperate to ask why my lifetime warranty was not being offered to me and I even gave them my contract number. They say that the Santa Monica store said they never saw me so I was obviously a lier and the contract number is a bunch of bull. I am being held responsible for the complete ignorance and incompetence of Aamco who do not have a clue how to do business nor can any of the five branches keep customer records. I can not believe that all the Aamco's I have taken my van to are that ***! They are just a part of the obvious fraud scam Aamco runs on people. Avoid Aamco at all cost. As stated above with the cntract number and invoices showing I have been there they deny I have ever been there. Fraudulent businesses like Aamco need to be put out of business now!

Aamco

Aamco always refuses to honor their lifetime warranty. You are never in their system as a customer, therefore they tell you that they never saw you. You never had your transmission built there. It is a constant battle to prove you have a lifetime warranty. They then will do a inferior rebuild causing you to have to go through the same harassment each and every time. You never are in their computers as a customer, even a month later. If you like extreme stress go to Aamco. They should be put out of business for fraud. I thought this was illegal in the U.S.A.

keep your receipt aamco always has records. lifetime warrantys are the customers job to keep up with.some of these warranty jobs can be 20 -25 years old.so keep your paperwork and dont forget your annual recheck.

I took my Jeep to the El Cerrito AAMCO for a diaganostic for $40.00 and was told a day later that it would cost another $1,000 to get a complete diag. Decided not to accept the additional charge. But when I went to pick my Jeep up, it was barely opporational. My jeep...

My Chevy impala transmission had problem last November. I brought it to Monrovia CA AAMCO.

First I was told that it only cost $1500. A couple of days later the manager told me that several major parts in the transmission were broken and needed to be replaced with $2500. The car only had 70000 miles on it. I agreed for them to repair.

In May this year (5 months later), the transmission was broken again. It took them more than 7 weeks to fix it. In July this year (6 weeks later). The car stopped in the middle of the road and then was towed to the shop.

Now it has been more than 9 weeks. The car is still not fixed. The manager even can not give me a date when it will be fixed.

I feel that I am being held as a hostage. I would appreciate any of your advice on how to deal with the situation.
