I also took my car to the Mesa location and what happened to you sounds EXACTLY as what happened to me. They got me for $2000.00 after a "rebuild" of the trans and the car was still doing the same thing it was before the work......After all said and done, NEVER was the trans, was the tensioner!

Word of advise, I have filed a formal complaint with the state att generals office. I have several attorneys on the case now.

AAMCO has just plain LIED and CHEATED us twice. We were foolish enough to give them the benefit of the doubt the second time. We took our car in the first time to get a tune up they sent us to another AAMCO claiming they couldn't do the tune up at that time but had...

Attempted rip-off - AAMCO in Rochester, NY

A while back I took my car to AAMCO transmission on Mt. Read Blvd in Rochester, NY, because the car made a clunking noise when I put the transmission in gear. The service writer checked out the car and then told me that the problem was with the transmission and it would cost over $300 to fix it. I asked him if he was sure that was the problem and he told me that's what it was. So I asked him for a written estimate for the repairs, but he only wrote down a total price with no detail of what had to be done or what parts would have to be replaced. That made me suspicious so then I took the car to Milt & Ron's Transmission shop, a local independent repair shop. They checked it out and told me the rear U-joint had to be replaced. Total cost (parts and labor) was under $100. So I had them do the work and no more clunking noise. I told them about the guy at AAMCO and what he had said to me, and they almost died laughing. Stay away from AAMCO!

Why would you keep taking it back to aamco. And you are right most aamco's don't know a thing about transmission repair.

Aamco corp. feeds the future owners with a bunch of misleading info and tells them that they don't need to know a thing about transmissions to run a transmission reair shop.....they are a bunch of morons.......

You should be ashamed of the way you write. I am writing this complaint against your english skills.

If I worked at an AAMCO I would throw you out for sounding so ***. Why would your dad take his truck there because it WOULD pass a smog test?

Why are you upset that the check engine light WON'T come on? Seriously man, please do not have children.

Treated w/ respect. All around Nice Guys @ AAMCO-Glendale

I had my VW Jetta looked at by the dealer and other shops. They all told me I needed a new transmission. After taking it to AAMCO in Glendale for a 4th opinion, I was told I didnt need a transmission at all. They took the time and explained how a transmission works and that many times they didnt need to remove the transmission to fix it. It's hard to find a mechanic shop that is honest and treats women w/ respect. Both John and Enrique were GREAT and didnt make me feel like a dummy. They were professional and explained things to me in plain English I would reccommend them anytime..Tell them Samantha w/ the Jetta sent you..they"ll get a kick.

Great Job AAMCO at posting your own compliment. Do you think any one would buy this load of ***.

You are perfect at financially raping people by ripping them off.

I hope you all burn in *** *** bags.. :( :(

Got screwd by Aamco out of $1900

I took my Jeep to the New Braunsfel Aamco to get my Jeep fixed,it was turning off just driving along,as it was the closest shop when my car stalled. $1900 later the manager said my car was fixed. A few days later it stalled again and took it back. They said they fixed it, again it stalled, took it back 4 times ,same thing. It stalled on me in Cedar Park, Texas and took it to the Aamco there and was told it was the computer all along, costing another $700.I called the customer relations office and was told (too bad you're scrwed)if you will.
