Bad repair policy! | Aamco review from Washington, District Of Columbia

Took my used hyunday to aamco with the feeling that there was something wrong with the transmission.I wanted to have an estimate of the cost in order to make a final decision wether or not to repair it. Once there AAMCO told me they cannot run this transmission test before they fixed other problems such as tune-up and other components! They had to called me on every step of the repair for my approval. Eventually they told me i have to change the transmission! At that point the cost of repairs was at $1800 before the transmission diagnostic! The balance would be about $6000 for the total repair. I told them I would rather get another car and forget the transmission. When I got my car back it was worst than before they touched it!!! My question is Why can't AAMCO diagnose at first the main issue with a car? I ended up selling that car for$1000 after I got another one! I definiteky wouldn't recommand trying AAMCO because they simply can't give you an estimate of your repairs which of course will be pricy at the end!!!

If your car is running poorly, how are they supposed to be able to tell if the transmission is working right? If you have a bad throttle position sensor, your car may not shift right.

Two Trips For One Job !!! | Aamco review from Washington, District Of Columbia

Wow ! So many bad reviews,I feel your pain. I wish I had read these reviews before taking my truck to AAmco here in Maryland.I took my 2002 truck to Aamco in Oct 2010 and paid $3000.00 for a rebuilt transmission. When I went to pick my truck up it vibrated while doing 40 mph. I quickly took my truck back ( less than 10 minutes)corrections were done the same day with-in 45 minutes.Than four months later my truck began to leak trans.fluid, so once again I had to take it back. The men at Laurel Aamco worked on my truck immediate.

I dropped my car off to be analyzed for a transmission repair on November 29 2010 with my boyfriend. For 2 weeks I waited for an analysis of my vehicle. I didn't stress the time frame as it was right after the holidays and I had another vehicle to drive. This was my...

I went to Aamco in Greer, SC because I trusted their name. They rebuilt my transmission and I picked up my car. It didn’t run correctly. The engine now ran rough. They didn’t even work on the engine. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong that it...

Why would you keep taking it back to aamco. And you are right most aamco's don't know a thing about transmission repair.

Aamco corp. feeds the future owners with a bunch of misleading info and tells them that they don't need to know a thing about transmissions to run a transmission reair shop.....they are a bunch of morons.......
