car transmission shop service problem money customer warranty vehicle truck

Un needed repairs | Aamco review from Orlando, Florida

Took my truck in for hard shifting into gears after a few miles warming up, they said they needed to diagnose the issue, 'OK professional oppion" after diagnosis ah the torque converter may be bad wont know till we open in up, their diagnosis led them to believe it had to be opened up, so 700 dollars labor later their were 3 electrical componants bad and torque conveter so at this point stuck with rebuild, so although was not ready for that, i figued at least its rebuilt and got many more years to drive it with warranty, so finall bill was 2750, then heading home after a few miles the same problem I came there with was still there, now i'm PISSED, took it back now they say it could be an electrcal issue, my problem in this situation is what happen to the professional diagnosis in the first place, it could have been a simple electrical issue all along not a 2700 rebuild if they even rebuilt it!

I hope everyone reads before choosing aamco

after replacing my tranny in June It broke again in Oct they blamed it on my radiator and held my car for 3 weeks saying my warenty was void I told them my radiator was checked 2 days before they had towed it away after my mech.changed the oil and checked other fluids, the customer service was the worst I have ever delt with all he wanted to do was agrue with me and it was his way and he wouldnt let me talk to the owner, they say one price and i had to pay over double the cost.so if you ever have tranny problems in ft myers fl do yourself a favor and stay away from Aamco on fowler st.

Aamco gets its mechanics from the same local pool as any other transmission shop in the area. It is completely possible to have the radiator cool the engine but fail on the transmission cooler portion.

I always recommend "by-pass" and run an external cooler...eliminates the possibility of the radiator causing a failure. But would you have paid another $200.00 if they told you they could eliminate such a risk? I doubt that you would. What you should have done is contact the customer relations and got them involved.

The great part of big companies is that they have to keep their customers happy. Human resources is a beautiful thing!

Yep.You got their regular bat and switch. Its the aamco way. What a bunch of crooks.Stay away from these places. Why anyone goes there to begin with is beyond me.Nothing but a scam shop. There all the same.Use the cheapest parts, shoddy workmanship ect.A regular drug store too.

Aamco

94 F150 Check Engine Light was on. Aamco said it was an O2 sensor. Wanted $200. They also left my radiator cap off. I installed a Bosch O2 sensor myself. Light is still on. They wanted 1/2 hr to diag it again. So even if they would have put a new O2 sensor in, it would not have fixed it. They probably would have said that it was something else and would have wanted more money. I wasted time and I still don't have a solution to my problem. I won't be going back to Aamco ever.

Gary and Kimberly Otto own Sunwest Automotive LLC which looks to be the LLC name of the AAMCO station on Cortez RD.

Aamco takes advantage of women

I took my car to aamco transmission to get my trans. fix, didnt have all the money to get it fixed right away, I told them I would have to pay them a little at a time till its paid off, they said ok thats fine, i goes back 2 weeks later to take them some money they gave me a pc of paper saying they going to sell my car if I dont get it in 60days. Its they first time ever coming to me with that, its not right the way they do people. I wish i would have took a man with me.

It's not that you are a woman...it's because you authorized repairs that you must have known that you could not pay for....most shops start charging storage after 3 days that a repair is completed....the shop payed for the parts, paid the mechanic to perform the repair, and you come in two weeks later with a small payment that would not even cover the expenses they have already had to spend to repair your car... They are not a finance company....geez...you really have to use some excuse(gender) instead of simply admitting that you think that people are obligated to solve your problems...

You are not a victim...you created this problem. Would you order food that you can't pay for....eat it all up......tell the diner that you will pay them as you are able ...then accuse them of sexism when they have you arrested for not paying for your meal.

Transmission | Aamco review from Tampa, Florida

AAMCO was TERRIBLE. The man told me that my transmission would cost $1600 and that it was a good deal considering that there were transmissions done for $2100...after I told him I would think about it becuase that is ridiculously expensive, he offered to buy my car...Later on I came to find out that it wasn't even my transmission that needed to be fixed it was my exaust...SHITTIEST SERVICE EVER. The man lied about my transmission needing to be done & when i was upset about the high price he offered to buy it (knowing that it would only cost him about 300 to get what needed to be done, done.) Worst service ever.

WOW! A free diagnostic is a free CHECK.

If something is wrong with your vehicle, it won't be free to fix..? It was a free check to DETERMINE the problem, which it sounds like they couldn't do because from "looking" at the transmission without taking it apart, they couldn't give you an accurate diagnostic. Sounds like you don't A.

have your facts straight and B. have no idea what the *** you're talking about!

Aamco transmission repairs..... not!

I paid 3600.00 for a transmission at Aamco in Merritt Island, FL and 9 months later the vehicle won't move. I was told that the "warranty" was 12 months or 12,000 miles. Since it would not go, I was told to take it to Aamco in Titusville,FL. I was told they "felt" bad and would only charge me $495.00 to remove it and diagnose. It went up to $695.00 a day later (apparently that "bad" feeling dissipated overnight). I am now being told it will cost me another 3400.00 to repair the transmission again. $7000.00 for a vehicle worth 6,000? Doesn't anyone have any ethics and/or morals? What does one do? Beware of AAMCO!!!!!

We told the customer that the vehicle was out of warranty by mileage but we would extend the warranty! The customer took his car to another center and then authorized the Titusville center to teardown the transmission for a fee when at our center it would have been covered for free!!!

The customer was told to bring the car back to our center so that we could cover the repair under warranty even though the car was OUT of warranty by mileage. He then went to another center and authorized a repair at that center after the manager there told him there would be a cost to perform that repair.

Once the warranty stipulations have been exceeded another Aamco center has the right to charge for the repairs on that vehicle!

We would have extended the warranty at our center to promote customer satisfaction. Once the customer signed an authorization to repair the vehicle at another center our hands were tied.

AAMCO Lauderhill FL has my car for a month!

I took my Mercedes in after they assured my they could rebuild the transmission. While my car was there it became unoperable due to a fuel problem they said and they cannot test drive it to check their work. My car was running fine and had no fuel problem whatsoever. I spoke to another mechanic at another shop and he told me the car needs to be reset and AAMCO doesn't invest in the necessary equipment to repair cars correctly. After one month I still don't have my car. I'm calling Help Me Howard at channel 7 news in Miami!!!
