Messed up my car | Aamco review from Chicago, Illinois

Details
I had a transmission leak took it to them because they had worked on my car before with know problems. Was told that I had three leaks, and that they would have to take the trans out to get to them. Ok. He called me and told me that my car was ready, but when I went to pick it up the next day it was inside with the hood up and mechanic was working on it, strange because it's suppose to be ready, He had asked for my card # before the work was done and had already taken the money off my card. I started up my car my check engine light was on. When I told him he told me that it would go out after I drove it a while. Put car in gear and it is jumping. I tell him something is wrong with my smooth running car. (Trust me, if my car had been running like that I would have junked it instead of paying $2400.00 for leaks). He said to drive it, it will reset itself. I brought it home cause I must put it on a machine to see what they did to my engine. To bring it back Monday so that they can fix it. Why did the mess with my engine, fix one thing and to get more money brake something else. I don't think it was suppose to go out until later but that North Star engine was more than they could handle.

Aamco Transmission Repair Review from Chicago, Illinois

Details
I had a new transmission put in my truck . It didnt work right so i took it back . They put on new pipes I didnt need . Sensers . Catalac converter . And to top it off broke the Trottle body cable guild that I had to get fixed elsewhere because this happened in Colmar Pa and I was visiting from AZ. After many complaints with Auto place and corporate office for refund of money I put out to have Trottle replaced ( that never should need replacement ) Corporate and actual shop offered to pay for the trottle . They split the payment . Auto shop check cashed but Corporate check bounced and is still unresolved . All in all I paid $6367 for truck repairs .$346. For trottle and I consider all money a loss . Worse place to have anything repaired .

AWFUL customer service | Aamco review from Lisle, Illinois

1.0
Details
I had an awful experience at one of your stores- the one located in Lisle, IL. I needed just a diagnosis and they asked me to leave the car with them, the whole day. They were suppose to call me when is done- never happened, so, before their closing time, I went back with my husband and asked what's going on (Jan 15th, around 4pm-4:30pm if they have cameras). Extremely relaxed and rude, the "boss" told me that's a very delicate matter and they need time- "may be a day, may be two, may be theree....who knows??". When I asked why didn't he told me that from the very beginning, he yelled at us to "get the F out of here, mo*F***rs"!!! another employee came and start yelling at us- so we left. It is UNBELIEVABLE how rude they are and they should be hold responsible for this. I should sue them and I'm pretty sure I would not be the first, nor the last.

Replaced parts that were not faulty and the problem is still there. Aamco is a rip off. I took my truck there to have them fix a noise in the transmission. They charged me $836.00, I paid them and the exact same noise was there. The manager told me they would have to...

Aamco Charges $595 to give customer a Quote

I had another competitor's quote for $2100.00 Aamco's Arlington Hts, IL branch suggested a price to rebuild Mazda transmission at between $1500-$1900 but they needed to take down trans to see the exact nature of repairs needed. They said a "basic rebuild" would be $1545. Quote came back at $2379. At this early point I was already "stuck" with Aamco as I would have had to pay the $595 + $85 towing to take my car elsewhere. After a few "extra" charges my final bill was $2796.05, $696 over my competitive estimate and $896 over Aamco's up-front "guesstimate". What a poor consumer model of locking customer in to the quote and then piling on charges. At the time I was there another customer was in the process of suing Aamco because he had paid for three repairs and his trans was still not working properly. It's a wonder this dealer doesn't spend the majority of his time in court!

Shady work | Aamco review from Chicago, Illinois

This is a WARNING of a review. Do NOT EVER take your car to AAMCO Transmissions in St. Charles, IL. I went in for a front end alignment and ended up with a car that was unsafe to drive. After calling to express my concerns and then given the run around for when they could 'fit me in' to look at it again, I decided to take the car to another mechanic for a second opinion. They looked at the car and were ASTONISHED at how loose the bolts were and how OUT OF ALIGNMENT the car was. They warned me to not drive it any more until it was fixed. I went straight from there to AAMCO and spoke with the owner, who, in turn debated and insulted me. He wanted to blame someone else and not take ownership & responsibility for the POOR QUALITY of work performed. I kindly requested a refund to no avail. I would steer clear of this scam of a business. The owner's name is Brian..

Aamco in Waukegan

It is a shame, when things get so bad that a person can no longer take his car to a mechanic for repairs without worring about what the mechanic is taking of their vehicle. I took my car to an aamco dealer in Waukegan, I guy kept my truck for 5 hours. After 5 hours he suggested the I allow him to give my transmission a power flush. After he returned my vehicle I notice that there was something wrong. This mechanic actually changed a part on my car without my permission. Be careful when you take your car this the mechanic. I am still trying to get something done about this situation.
