Aamco review in Chicago, Illinois: Fraudulent services
I had my work van worked on by one of your facilities. They basically tried to ripp me off and kept my van for 5 weeks. Please get in touch with me so i can explain in detail. As for a review please avoid AAMCO auto shops so you don't get robbed. Very shady people.

Aamco review in Chicago, Illinois: Messed up my car
I had a transmission leak took it to them because they had worked on my car before with know problems. Was told that I had three leaks, and that they would have to take the trans out to get to them. Ok. He called me and told me that my car was ready, but when I went to pick it up the next day it was inside with the hood up and mechanic was working on it, strange because it's suppose to be ready, He had asked for my card # before the work was done and had already taken the money off my card. I started up my car my check engine light was on. When I told him he told me that it would go out after I drove it a while. Put car in gear and it is jumping. I tell him something is wrong with my smooth running car. (Trust me, if my car had been running like that I would have junked it instead of paying $2400.00 for leaks). He said to drive it, it will reset itself. I brought it home cause I must put it on a machine to see what they did to my engine. To bring it back Monday so that they can fix it. Why did the mess with my engine, fix one thing and to get more money brake something else. I don't think it was suppose to go out until later but that North Star engine was more than they could handle.

Aamco Transmission Repair Review from Chicago, Illinois
I had a new transmission put in my truck . It didnt work right so i took it back . They put on new pipes I didnt need . Sensers . Catalac converter . And to top it off broke the Trottle body cable guild that I had to get fixed elsewhere because this happened in Colmar Pa and I was visiting from AZ. After many complaints with Auto place and corporate office for refund of money I put out to have Trottle replaced ( that never should need replacement ) Corporate and actual shop offered to pay for the trottle . They split the payment . Auto shop check cashed but Corporate check bounced and is still unresolved . All in all I paid $6367 for truck repairs .$346. For trottle and I consider all money a loss . Worse place to have anything repaired .

Aamco in Waukegan
It is a shame, when things get so bad that a person can no longer take his car to a mechanic for repairs without worring about what the mechanic is taking of their vehicle. I took my car to an aamco dealer in Waukegan, I guy kept my truck for 5 hours. After 5 hours he suggested the I allow him to give my transmission a power flush. After he returned my vehicle I notice that there was something wrong. This mechanic actually changed a part on my car without my permission. Be careful when you take your car this the mechanic. I am still trying to get something done about this situation.

Aamco review in Chicago, Illinois: Shady work
This is a WARNING of a review. Do NOT EVER take your car to AAMCO Transmissions in St. Charles, IL. I went in for a front end alignment and ended up with a car that was unsafe to drive. After calling to express my concerns and then given the run around for when they could 'fit me in' to look at it again, I decided to take the car to another mechanic for a second opinion. They looked at the car and were ASTONISHED at how loose the bolts were and how OUT OF ALIGNMENT the car was. They warned me to not drive it any more until it was fixed. I went straight from there to AAMCO and spoke with the owner, who, in turn debated and insulted me. He wanted to blame someone else and not take ownership & responsibility for the POOR QUALITY of work performed. I kindly requested a refund to no avail. I would steer clear of this scam of a business. The owner's name is Brian..

My advise is to never take your car to be serviced at this AAMCO location 2157 N CICERO CHICAGO IL 60639. I dropped my car off at 8 am and at 9:30 am I received a strange phone call from the shop which consisted of "Has anyone been messing around with your car?" well...

Over the course of 10 months I brought the car into the Aamco on Pickett St. in Alexandria a total of 6 times. Despite the inept service, I continued to allow Aamco to attempt the repairs because of a warranty i purchased. On each of these occasions I was without a car...

I wish i had seen these reviews before taking my car to aamco. I was taken in by an "internet special" that would diagnose my transmission problem for free.
Of course as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. After the free diagnosis, they ended up telling me that i would need to pay over $800 dollars to accurately diagnose what was wrong with my car which consisted of taking apart my transmission. After getting me to commit... i should have known better, i get a call back a couple of days later saying that the transmission repair would be over $3,800!!!
Hind sight is 20/20 don't fall for the gimmicks ..... run, run away fast and don't look back
