Find a local, well regarded transmission shop and have your car towed there. Itemize all the expenses to date in regards to the transmission repair and subsequent costs.
After your car is done and you have an invoice with total and explanation of specific repairs, you will have the proper documentation to sue Aamco in small claims court. Make sure you add the tow costs, rental car costs, additional mileage of carpooling w/ wife ($.59/mile), and find out what punitive damages may be added to that (breach of contract).
You will prevail. Additionally contact the state bureau of automotive repair, BBB, and post on Angie's List.
