AAMCO *** me over

I have a new car now, I rarely drive my old one hence it being 3,000 miles in the past 2 years, well today I went to get it inspected. TRANS Takes a dump right after. I just paid them 2300$ for a new one. Of course warranty runs out. I'll call the Monday but I know exactly the response they are going to give me. If they do, They are getting a ear full of harsh words. I paid full cash & told them that, maybe it got to there heads I don't know. Will add another if things go south from here.

I had the transmission rebuilt on my Honda at Aamco in Frazier , PA in January of 2011. I had to put it back in the shop in July of 2011 because the transmission started to act up again. The car was pausing and jumping when it switched gears again. So my car will...

Find a local, well regarded transmission shop and have your car towed there. Itemize all the expenses to date in regards to the transmission repair and subsequent costs.

After your car is done and you have an invoice with total and explanation of specific repairs, you will have the proper documentation to sue Aamco in small claims court. Make sure you add the tow costs, rental car costs, additional mileage of carpooling w/ wife ($.59/mile), and find out what punitive damages may be added to that (breach of contract).

You will prevail. Additionally contact the state bureau of automotive repair, BBB, and post on Angie's List.

Aamco trans: lied, installed unecessary parts, put false numbers on bill, dishonest,

Aamco trans service manager,Jimmie,Reading,Pa.,Lancaster Ave.shop lied to me, used trickery and deception, used false numbers on the bill, failed to honor his estimated quote. He is worse than Black Beard the Pirate. He should fly the Jolly Roger over his shop. He told me my transy pan was leaking when it wasn,t,installed a special gasket when I didn,t need one, inflated the price of the bill to pump profit margin, and showed me damaged gasket that I don,t think was from my car. I am also suspicius on the mechanics. This event happened 6/23/11, Reading Pa, Lancaster Ave, Service manager name was Jimmie. Car was a 98 Pontiac Grand prix with 53000 certified miles. Gene,

This is a very old review. Doug Gregory no longer is involved with this shop or with AAMCO.

Current ownership has received "Superlative Customer Satisfaction" award for 2011, 2012 & 2013. Stop in, you'll be glad you did.

Pottstown PA AAMCO - Took money for no repair

I would never allow them to change the air freshener hanging from the rearview let alone allowing them to try and do any real work. They gambled on a resolution, it failed, they lost, they kept my money and after 9 months still have my car. Therefore, I lost. News flash - fixing the damage does not always fix the problem. Most people expect that the problem be fixed. Consumers generally do not care about the damage only a satisfactory resolution. If I had a flat tire, putting more air in might solve the issue - but only until all the air leaks out. replacing a transmission might fix the problem, but if it doesn't consumers do not care that you replaced the transmission. We want a working car after thousands of dollars and months of time. See you in court fellas.

Customer Service Not a Priority for Aamco

I took my truck to be computer analyzed on a Wednesday to the Reading, PA location. They said they would call when it was done. They didn't. After an entire day and still nothing. So I went there. They said they didn't have the part. If I could leave the car, they would call when it was done the next day. Thursday they said the part went to the wrong location and a gasket was missing so they hadn't gotten to it yet but if I could leave it they would have in done Friday. It would take about an hour. I made an appointment for the next day and brought it back at 11:00. I called at 2:00 and it still wasn't done. At 4:00 the women was downright rude and said it will be done when it is done but for sure by 5:00. Then she called back and said it won't be done until 6:00. I went there at 6:00 and they had just pulled it in. I waited there until 7:00 to get it back. I have never dealt with anyone more unprofessional and rude. I am sure my truck would have still been there on Saturday if I had not waited there. I would not reccomend their service to anyone.

They had to rebuild my trans twice in 2010-I've had at least 10 rebuilds over the last 10yrs and since I bought the lifetime warranty they have to fix it(but when I first dealt with Aamco it was in Lancaster PA and the owner was great-but he sold out and those guys wrecked my car one time so now I end up dealing with the Reading store)

Well the first time in 2010 they tried to say I had over 2k of work that needed fixed-so I played along since I know nothing was wrong. I towed it to my mechanic and he found not a dam thing wrong on there list.

I am a women but I know my car-I am not a fool that shops make me out to be. And each time I go in for my yearly checks I gringe because I can feel the ripoff. REALLY miss the owner at the Lancaster location and wishes he never sold out.

I had taken my car to Aamco to have the transmission replaced in July. They gave me a quote that seemed a little high and I couldn't afford it at the time, so I bought a transmission with a 101 day warranty and took it to them to install. They told me it would take...

I have heard a lot of complaints on used transmissions. You go to a jewlery store to buy jewels, what did you expect to buy when you went to a junk yard?

Hint: JUNK!
