Verified Reviewer |Car in AAMCO UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH WHOM EVER IS IN CONTROL
I took my vehicle to AAMCO on William Penn Highway in Easton, PA. I have a car warranty, so they knew from the start that I didn't have a lot of money.
I have transmission issues, and they confirmed it. The mechanic sent like three different estimates. They're trying to charge me $6,749 for a used transmission; the warranty approved $3,500, so I have to come up with over $3,000 I never had. My vehicle has been there two weeks, and they have the mechanic who doesn't speak English running the whole shop.
No supervisor, no one else I have spoken to. He's never there; he doesn't return calls. I need my car back.
I cannot lose my car. Someone above this character needs to rectify this issue ASAP.

Working on a detailed update .. please do not send
I urge everyone in Naplesespecially fellow seniorsto beware of AAMCO Total Care of Naples and the owner, Dan V. After my warranty covered the full cost of my transmission replacement (parts and labor), they still overcharged me by $3,000.
The typical job requires 810 hours, but they claimed 18 hours and took advantage of my trust as a senior citizen. This dishonest billing is a disgrace.
I feel cheated and angry that they stole my hard-earned money. Please protect yourselfget everything in writing and double-check before agreeing to any repairs here.

I went to an Amco gas station, and my car didn't go through, and they still kept $20. I'm wanting to see about getting a refund.

Keep getting promises my truck would be repaired over a month
The vehicle is under warranty. The car has been held at 12307 S Halsted in Chicago for over a month.
Every week the manager promised us the car, and we drive there, and it's not ready. The name is Charlie Jackson. It's a red 2003 Ford Explorer, and this has been over a month, and we constantly bring the car back due to transmission problems, so all we want is to have the car repaired and given back to us within a reasonable time. It's been over a month.
I can be reached at 708-980-****. The email is chevy8356@***.com.

Complaint
I used the shop on South Lamar, Austin, Texas. He charged us almost $5,000.00 for a rebuilt transmission.
When I picked up my van, it wouldn't start. The manager said it was okay to drive. He had to get it started, and I barely made it home. It wouldn't start anymore.
I had to find someone to check my van. The mechanic at the transmission shop failed to plug in a connector that allowed my van to start. Now, less than 2 months in, pow! The transmission is broken again.
It cost us $175.00 to tow the van to the shop. Now they just slapped a $100.00 charge on us for pushing the van 100 feet. Not fair. What are they gonna say we owe next?
Help. Don't go there ever.
- Ben around
- Time to close this shop
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do not go there
Aamco in Dover Delaware lost my key fob and is refusing to be helpful
I urge you to stay clear of this place. I dropped my Jeep off to Aamco to have the transmission looked at on Sunday, June 29th, I left my jeep in the grass lot, filled out their brown paper bag with my information, dropped my key fob into the brown bag, peeled the sticker off the back, sealed it shut and dropped the bag (WITH MY KEY SEALED INSIDE) into their blue early bird drop off box.
Had faith that all would be well considering doing what I was told for the key. The week goes on, and I hear nothing about my vehicle so on Thursday, July 3rd I decided to call to get an update and to my utter surprise they tell me they don't have my key. I explained to them exactly what I did and how I heard my brown bag with my key hit the bottom of the drop box. I stated how it maybe someone grabbed it and misplaced it when returning to work Monday, June 30th.
They proceed to tell me they do not have it but will look for it and call me back before end of shift Thursday. Well, they never did call me back. I left a voicemail for them on Friday. I wait all weekend and call first thing Monday morning to get an update on my lost key, I spoke with a man named Brandon who proceeded to laugh at me and argue with me throughout our time on the phone telling me he does not have my key and that I did not leave it.
Brandon continued to laugh as I explained once again the process that I went through, and how someone in that office had to have misplaced it. Brandon explained that they did search my plate earlier in the week before because my vehicle was in their way (but never actually called me to ask about the key or anything) - I explained to him once again that I swear I left my key, they could roll back their cameras if they needed and that someone there needed to find my key as THEY lost it and I did not have a spare, to get a spare was $300+ to which Brandon continued to laugh, said he would look for the key again and proceeded to hang up on me due to having too many other costumers to deal with. I had absolutely no trust in this place anymore and knew they would not call me back nor would they look for the key any further - I called my insurance had to pay & have my vehicle towed to the dealership in order to pay for a new key fob, I will NEVER be using this place again nor will I ever tell another soul to go here. I will do my best to make sure no one comes here again.
Trusted in them to do better than a dealership or elsewhere & they ended up being one of the worst places I have ever dealt with. They are absolutely not for the customers and shame on me forever trusting this place would be worth a crap.
Rarely do I ever leave reviews much less negative reviews but if I could give negative stars I would.
User's recommendation: Do not come here. They are not for the customers. Will lose your things and laugh about it
Not informed about brake job
I took my truck to get my brake pads replaced and was never told that they would replace the rotors and drums until my truck was ready. My bill was $1,200, and I asked why; he said they always replace the rotors and drums. So instead of making a big...
- And talking to girlfriend on the phone instead of working
- To much procrastinating on the job

Failure to submit timely credit for never used parts or services
Car needed new brakes to pass inspection. They ordered brakes but I found someone else to do brakes for about half the price.
Since the brakes were ordered but not used I asked for a credit. He said. The credit couldn't be put thru until the following Monday. I notified my credit union and she told me the credit was put thru.
I also called car repair shop on lancaster ave in reading pa and Joshua said he thought it was put thru. He would check. He never got back to me. I recently got my visa statement and the credit was not applied to my account.
We are talking over 955$! In the meantime time I also was billed by the person who did work on my brakes. I have followed up with the credit union in my visa the aamco shop is the firm who should be issuing the credit or Jag consulting a Hispanic company representing Hispanic companies. I visited them in aamco twice last week.
Joshua an employee stated he could issue the credit; james Garcia. Stated the co is quick to put through the charge but slow on issuing the credit.
Joshua then told me james was going to Delaware to pick up transmission in Tuesday but on the off chance I found james in early that day(TUESDAY). I BELIEVE they are stretching it out to try and keep the 955+.
User's recommendation: Be aware of these tactics used by aamco/jag. This is over a month's time so far

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Scammed out my vehicle
My cars transmission went out so I went online trying to find a shop . I was born and raised in Irving but I recently moved to euless . With me not being comfortable with the mechanics in my new area I decided to use yelp and ask friends and family do they know a good trust worthy family shop that doesnt cost you to do no work and want a arm and leg for pricing .
With that being said I went ahead and call AAMCO transmission . When speaking to Tommy he told me Saturday he would sent a tow truck Saturday came around I spoke to the tow guy at 9am Jan 10th ,but online said they were closed but they told me they were open and could tow . After waiting until 3 pm no one shows up so I found a ride to work and said Ill handle it . Monday I called and asked what happened they told me tow got backed up they would be there Monday Jan 13 which they did come around 11-12 .
Tommy told me tow was $100 and transmission diagnostics was 300$ I told him great lets do that . (The tow fee would be waved if I got a service done )
On Monday at 1:36 he called and told me the transmission was no good it had big medal prices everywhere and if the pieces were small they could fix it but it was tore up so bad it will have to be replaced. He told me he did 9 hours of labor and his workers get payed 165$ hour and that his labor fee is 1500 . But he called me within 2 hours so how was that 9 hours of labor . What labor did you do ? I told him thats not what you quoted me . He told me labor could start at 1,000 then pieces can be any where from 500-**** depending on the company because around this time they change their prices . And that he couldnt give me an exact price just yet .
After telling him I live paycheck to paycheck what were the payment options he told me I could look into finance companies when I did he told me that the whole new total was 4500 and he wanted 4700 if I go through finance .
After speaking with him and telling him thats not right , we had no agreement , no work was done I was never quoted my full price or signed any agreement .
It has been two weeks and they have held my car hostage . He told me he would work with me so I asked what did he mean he said *** give my car back for 1500 I said lets work a deal he said okay 1000 I said Ill give you $400 like we agreed which was tow and a diagnostics . And the tow was waved since I told him I would get work done with him which was the diagnostics to make sure it was my transmission .
After getting a man involved ,my dad ,tommy was calmer and willing to negotiations on paying something for no actual work done he told me he would give me 500 for my car because his mechanics wife needs a car to drive and it would be a even trade I said so your telling me all this because you want to keep my car . You wont accept $400 for the work you did but you want me to accept $500 for my car .
Ive been car less and paying paycheck to paycheck to find rides everyday Ive never been without a vehicle for work and Ive never been scammed out of my car . Without a quote and trying to negotiate but not negotiate im super stressed . Today makes three weeks and Tommy told me he was moving my car to a garage for $30 a day .

Brought my vehicle in for a transmission rebuild.. It failed six times resulted in them, giving me a new transmission..
At which point has now failed.. They said my warranty on the new transmission started When the first repair to my old transmission occurred..
It should be under warranty Due to the new transmission being installed at that point.. Now I am being called saying they have no problem Charging me to install a new one..

I reached out to aamco to get my engine replaced. I explained to the service person that I needed an engine replaced.
He explained that we will tow it in and if you get the work done the tow would be subtracrted from the repair. So I declined the service and now he is trying to charge me $69.01 for a diagnostic test that was not communicated in the initial conversation.

There isn’t anything to rectify and no one to do anything. All AAMCOs are franchised.
All you can do is get quotes elsewhere. BTW, having a warranty doesn’t imply not having a lot of money for a repair.
What do you mean, I told him verbally, & he was never hardly available to communicate, WHY isn't there an English-speaking person there? Ok I couldn't understand his Spanish, So if He could communicate with properly & things got confusing THATS MY FAULT I CALLED EVERYONE I COULD TO TRY & GET PROPER COMMUNICATION, IF REFUSAL TO RECTIFY THIS , I WILL CONTACT MY LAWER.!
