You never told us "the original issue". If you're a certified mechanic, why did you have to rely on a chain like AAMCO where they probably don't know as much as you do ?

Any good tradesman has a list of industry contacts upon whom he relies for assistance and advice. I don't understand why you'd pick the least competent persons just because they hung out a sign.

I didn't think I was a dentist just because I bought a high speed drill ... I will upvote you because you're unhappy but question your methods.

I work at an aamco and wish to know what transmission you got charged 6k for, and whether it was just transmission or other repairs with it. If it is 6k for just a transmission and not some high dollar exotic transmission it sounds like highway robbery and you may ned to contact corporate.

My vehicle has been there two times already and the transmission is still failing. I paid $1800 dollars to Mr. Ty Boughter and he has not fixed it. I will have to take my car for the 3rd time. Today my car went out of gear and it is not driveable.

Welk took the car back I still had a balance so I paid it, about 1 mile from home the trans goes into neutral. Used my fathers truck to push the car to ky house.

I can't believe how they let these people take advantage of the less fortunate. Well the car was getting fixed for my son to go to college. I did not take the car back cause I know nothing was getting done. Mr.

Ty how can you screw people over and lie to my face that you fixed my car. I have so much things to write on this blog but I have to keep calm. Mr. Ty I believe you were in the military Army, I would not *** another soldier the way you did to me.

How can you keep doing this.

So now I have no money I am under disability and the money I paid you Ty was my wifes income tax. Well since there is no way to have a conversation with you I hope somebody can help me.

We take out reputation quite seriously, so here is our response to these untrue accusations:

-I spoke with the husband, George, on 10/29. I offered EXACTLY what his wife asked for: A refund of what they paid us.

I said I would immediately refund their money back so long as I was able to speak with the Ford dealership they took the vehicle to so we could verify the parts were missing. After asking several times for the name of the dealership, George refused each and every time to give me the name of the Ford Dealership nor would he provide me a copy of his invoice showing he had to pay for the parts he claimed were missing. He would only say he would have Phillip, the service manager at the Ford dealership, call me. I have still not heard from Phillip.

I called the 5 Ford dealerships in our area, SW Ford in Weatherford, Auto Nation Ford, Auto Nation South Fort Worth Ford, Texas Motor Ford and Five Star Ford. Not one of them has a service manager named Phillip. I find it quite interesting that I offered the customer back over $300 with the only condition being that I speak with the Service Manager at the supposed Ford Dealership they took their vehicle to so I could verify the claim of missing parts and he dodged giving me a straight answer several times? Not to mention there is no Phillip working at any of the Ford dealerships in the Fort Worth area?

If George or his wife tries to dispute how the above referenced conversation went, I have the phone call which I would be happy to share.

-John the manager did call the husband asking why they left a negative review and were making untrue accusations against us. We take the reputation of our shop quite seriously, as should any business.

-The ‘outrageous price’ included all updates to the transmission, heavy duty parts (E250 van used for for commercial purposes) and a 3 year, nationwide, unlimited mileage warranty.

-All parts were placed in the box as requested by the customer. No parts were kept on our end

-Our rebuilder is the one that caught the wrong TORQUE Converter.

(It is not a TORCH converter as the customer says in her complaint). We immediately located the correct one and corrected OUR mistake before the vehicle left our shop. It stands to reason that if this customer was going to correct a transmission shop on giving them an incorrect part, would they not know what that part is called? -Our most junior employee has been with the company since 2012.

They are held to a high and ethical standard by the owner. No employee gave the customer Jason’s name and phone number.

Nor were they ever told this happens frequently because it simply does not happen with our shop. David B General Manager

Aamco - Truck Repair Review from Kingsville, Texas

6weeks today and my truck is still in the AAMCO shop. The real kicker is that they have no idea when it will be ready. I've never done business with a company or individual with such a total disregard of customer service. I've even contacted the home office and all they can say is "what do you want me to do about it." I'm one extremely pissed consumer.

What happened to your truck? Did you have to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office?

My husband took our van in for the muffler, only; and low and behold, it went from the muffler to a blown-out engine; from $1,100 to $3,000 plus dollars. Six weeks later, we still do not have our van. We would get it back every week or every other week, and while we are driving, literally, it would just die in the middle of the road. I asked the guy at AAMCO if he was trying to get me/us killed?

So, back in it went, then we would get a call, "...its good..." This last time, which was yesterday, we loved it alright, the a/c started to get hot, then the steering wheel started to get harder to turn, all of the warning lights came on, and my 21-year-old son is saying, "Ma, the a/c is blowing hot air." At the moment, it died in the middle of the street, again.

My husband has called and complained, complained, complained. And granted our van is old, we have never in all the years we have had this van, ever, had it die on us. It is the most reliable car we have ever owned, it never gave us any problems, never! We take it into AAMCO for a muffler, and we leave with a new, not very compatible, engine...and now we are being told we need an alternator, and its going to cost us.

REALLY! Then we are told that a car is like going to the dentist, you go in for one tooth, only to find out there are three teeth that need to be fixed--well, some dentist lie as well. And now the consumer affairs office at AAMCO is on the mechanics side, so I guess we will have to choose our battle on this one and go to the Attorney General's Office.

We have no van history of something so major as a it blowing its engine.

Great Service at AAMCO Plano

AAMCO is the real deal. In a city sometimes filled with guys ready to take your money and do a shoddy job, AAMCO’s team was honest, upfront, and communicative. I've lived in TX for 14 years, and brought my car to lots of different places for various reasons but I think I’ve found my one stop shop after they went above and beyond for me with a replacement battery that I absolutely needed for the same day to make it to my son’s wedding.
